The contact owns a 2019 Buick Envision. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle abruptly stopped without driver input. The brake assist warning light was illuminated. The message -??Brake Assist Failure - Drive with Caution-?? was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the local dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
While driving the vehicle, the service "brake assist" light came on. I put my foot on the brake and had no brakes, then had limited brakes when slowly pumping then pedal went to the floor. That warning went off and the malfunction indicator lamp came on.

The first time I was on a highway. The 2nd time I was on a street in town and the 3rd time I had just pulled out of a driveway in a subdivision, after the car had not moved from Friday to Sunday.
