A certified mechanic inspected my 2006 Buick Lacrosse LX. He said that complete tie rod assembly was "worn out", and needed to be replaced. This should not be happening with a vehicle with 80,000 miles on it!
NHTSA# 618086. Buick tsb # 01-02-32-001 third replacement of shaft since purchased new in 02/2006. Vehicle has 19,635 miles 7,048 miles 1st replacement, 14,600 2nd replacement, 19,635 3rd replacement (02/10/2009). Parts kept by dealer.
GM 2006 Buick Lacrosse with front end problem* the consumer stated after the mileage was increased on the vehicle, the tires wore prematurely and the shimmy or vibration became worse. The consumer stated the vibration was so severe, that she also shakes while driving the vehicle. Steering control has become a safety hazard and the vehicle will float on curves and on flat straight highways. The tires have been replaced several times to no avail. The consumer stated a total of 16 tires had been ordered for the vehicle.
