At 3:30pm the driver applied the brakes in a line of cars at about 25 mph. The pedal went to the floor and the brakes failed completely. The car then accellerated independently and struck another car in front. Road was wet, slight grade. The 2007 Buick was a total loss.

The contact owns a 2007 Buick Lacrosse. While driving at various speeds, the air bag indicator flashed on and off on the front passenger side. The vehicle was taken to van buren Buick GMC (866-223-5291, located at 2257 jericho turnpike, garden city park, NY 11040) where the air bag module was replaced. The failure recurred and the part was replaced again by the same dealer. The failure recurred again. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle was too old and had too many miles. The vehicle was repaired at the owner's expense. The failure mileage was unknown.

When the vehicle is started the red airbag light comes on and will not go off. Occasionally when there is a passenger and the passenger airbag light comes on the red airbag light will go off. It is my concern that the airbag will not deploy when it should or it will deploy when it shouldn't. I am very concerned about this. The car has never been wrecked and the airbags have never been deployed. This all happens either stationary and/or in motion.

The airbag warning light comes on while the car is traveling indicating the airbags are malfunctioning. It comes on and off intermittently. I brought in to the dealer and they cleared the malfunction code and it happened again. They want to change the sensor under the seat for $1250 since it is not covered by warranty. It seems to occur when the car is in motion going either up or down an incline.

Airbag light comes on intermittently. This is a safety concern, since appearance of this light may indicate that airbag would not deploy in the event of an impact. The dealership checked the care and cleared the code, and advised to keep an eye on this should the light come back on. I have checked online and this seems to be a pervasive issue with this particular model year and even years following this. In some cases there have been recalls that involved software issues. I spoke with the dealership and they advised that they could change the sensors, but this runs about $2500 and there is no warranty that it would resolve the issue of the intermittent appearance of the airbag light. Shouldn't this involve an official recall, since it is such a common problem for this model and shouldn't the manufacturer be researching a solution to ensure driver/passenger safety?

Intermittent air bag warning light goes on and off for passenger seat whether or not the seat is occupied. This has continued for two years. On-star failure code is always B0092. I took the Buick to a dealer who attempted to fix it twice without luck. The thrid trip for a "fix" would have cost me $ 1,200 without any guarantees. It still is in use but I now keep my fingers crossed. This happens when parked or driving.

The contact owned a 2007 Buick Lacrosse. While driving approximately 3 mph, the contact's vehicle was struck by another vehicle. The air bags deployed. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent body shop. The contact stated that puncture wounds were present and were believed to be metal fragments from the air bags. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000. Updated 07/12/16 updated 07/19/16.

Sometimes when I am driving my icon for the airbags is illuminated on my dash, which I suppose means that my air bags are not activated. When I went to andy mohr Buick in fishers, in. 46038, I questioned them about it. And they said they did not know what was causing it, and they would have to put it on the analyzer and find out what was wrong and that could cost several hundreds of dollars. So I call GM and they paid for it. I was told that it was the personal body module and would run around $1300. I new about the key recall and thought that might have something to do with it. So I waited until Buick fixed my key problem, but the airbag did not go away. Then the next (light recall) came up, which is still not remedied so I do not know if that is not a part of the problem. Since, I bought the car from my elderly neighbor, she said that she complained about it several times to the Buick dealer, (andy mohr) and they did not do anything. They told her that whenever it happens to bring the car into the dealership. Well, with all intermittent problems it is very hard for a person to get the car to the dealer while it is happening. And all of these diagnostic charges are very expensive. And if you pay for a repair and then there is a recall, you never get your money back from the manufacture. Read some of your complaints and you will see that I am right, so the poor consumer has to wait and drive an unsafe vehicle until the slow wheels of government finally make the manufacture do the right thing and fix the problem. I am still waiting 8 months for the exterior lighting repair. Does some one have to be killed before we get action.

Returning from a mi trip on pa rt 80, noticed passenger air bag warning light was off. Since that time, the air bag light has been intermittently effective (see diagnostic check on dealer billing). Recently, deputy administrator [xxx] has testified a defect was the result of inaccurate suppression read by the air bag module which activates the seat bag. We have been traveling since, unsure the passenger was covered by an active bag. Please advise of any information available to assist in identifying this problem. Thank you. (dealer... billing is sent under separate cover)...updated 11-24/14 updated 5/1/2015 information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

My wife is handicapped has had multiple back surgeries and needs to sit on a cushion on the passenger side of the vehicle. When she sits on a cushion the airbag light says the airbag is not on. The vehicle was taken to palm auto mall Buick in 2010 where they replaced the sensor in the seat. It still says that the airbag is off when she sits on the cushion. I contacted GM in spring of 2012 and was told that there was nothing they could do to remedy the problem. This is very dangerous if in fact the airbag is off.
