Control arm bushing failed, causing the control arm to grind into the sub frame of the car. The sub frame is aluminum and was damaged very quickly. This issue gave no indication and only became apparent under visual inspection while the car was being serviced for another complaint. The sub frame could fail completely causing steering suspension and brakes to fail.

The contact owns a 2007 Buick Lacrosse. The contact stated that upon inspection, all four wheels were found to have been losing air due to corrosion. In addition, the low tire pressure warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the mechanic stated that all four wheels had to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 50,000. The current mileage was 65,000. Updated 11/19/13

The contact owns a 2007 Buick Lacrosse. The contact stated that while cleaning the rim on the tires, the tire stem became detached. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the technician diagnosed that the valve stem needed to be replaced and the sensors needed to be re-calibrated. The contact mentioned that after the repairs, the tires were continuously loosing air. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not further repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure and current mileage was 46,000.
