This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The A-pillar of the vehicle is extremely wide and obstructs visibility. The vehicle is dangerous to drive, and the width of the pillar has caused us to pop 3-tires (one left, two right) (three separate times/three different drivers) due to an inability to adequately gauge turns as a result of the pillar's width. It is an extreme design flaw and action should be taken against GM for such a negligent design. No matter the seat position, you simply do not have adequate frontward visibility to the left or right (it's just one giant frontward blind spot). Additionally, the C/D pillars are also extremely wide and obstructive, and the rear deck is too high. This design has not changed for even the 2014 models and provides an inherent safety risk.
On tow occasions, while moving ahead at approx. 10 mph, in front of the grocery store, an individual was crossing in front of my vehicle and the post between the driver's side and the windshield being so wide, obstructed the view of him/her crossing the drive lane. My wife was riding in the passenger seat and she was able to him/her and alerted me, because I could not due to the post being so wide. It blocked my view of him. Another incident occurred with a car pulling out from the right side being partially blocked by the post on the right. It is a hazardous design blocking approx. 20% of forward view across the front of the vehicle.. updated 08-27-12
