The power steering completely went out while we were on vacation and I had to drive it all the way home with no power steering. The entire steering system had to be replaced at a cost of around $5,000. The mechanic shop had to order the part which took several days, then it took them almost a week to replace it. They had to remove the entire subframe to get to the part. Who would invent such a system like this? What happened to the good old days where you had a rack and pinion and a power steering pump that ran off a belt.
