Summary
This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that may have a no crank concern with a fob program message displayed. The customer may indicate at times after unlocking the vehicle using the unlock button on the key fob, they enter the vehicle and depress the start button and the vehicle does not respond. If this concern is duplicated the technician should exit and lock the vehicle. Wait 5 minutes, depress the unlock button on either fob 3-5 times within 10 seconds, and then enter the vehicle. Technician will find that the vehicle will not crank and a message may display on the Driver Information Center ?! Remote Learn Pending Please Wait? or ?Ready For Fob Three? there will be no other response from the vehicle. If either message is displayed or the customer has commented on a similar concern, use the key to check the rotation of the driver?s door lock cylinder. If the key rotates further when unlocking then the normal 90 degrees, the vehicle may have been assembled with the incorrect door lock cylinder to latch rod. Technician will replace the incorrect rod.
