The contact owns a 2000 Buick Regal. The contact stated that the passenger side front brake steel line, extending from the master cylinder to the wheel, has worn out. The brake pedal extended to the floor when it was depressed and barely stopped the vehicle. A local General Motors dealer replaced the master cylinder and the surrounding components. The estimated repair cost was $450. The dealer stated that this was a common failure, which comes from condensation from the air conditioner unit leaking onto the cylinder and creating rust. The VIN and engine size were unknown. The failure mileage was 80,000 and current mileage was 81,500. Updated 01-15-08. Updated 01/15/08
