This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
2000 Regal Buick with low mileage didn't pass nh state inspection because of code P0440 evaporation emission control system. When looking at GM recall there were 248 other 2000 Buick recalls with the same issue reported to General Motors.this code has to do with the fuel system, gas lines and storage tank and can be very dangerous and catch the car on fire.I did call GM and filed a claim but they really don't care.also there is a steering/suspension steering linkage free play. When doing research on this there was a recall (76128) and 979 people also reported this issue.
While driving 20 mph the steering failed. As a result, the vehicle crashed into a snow bank. The consumer experienced two crashes due to the brakes and the steering locking. The consumer had taken the vehicle to the dealer on three occasions for the steering problem but the locking continued. The dash lights would come on (gas gauge and oil light), the vehicle pulled to the right and the trunk would fly open while the vehicle was in motion.
While the vehicle was being serviced, the dealer discovered the tie rod was broken. (this was the third incident by a GM auto with low mileage) the ABS sensor and bearing was replaced, the 2 wheel alignment, set the caster, camber 120 cr 519, and toe in to factory specifics.
