Car started stalling & engine shutting down, had it towed to a repair shop, they kept it a week and put a new battery in, they did not seem to know what the problem is.

Some times you try to start the car it will not start, all the interments lights flash and the gauges move back & forth, you can turn on the head light's or hazarded flashers and the car will start and run. When you are driving the car can stall and go dead, dangerous with the way people here drive; heavy traffic at times!

People here don't drive safe, they don't seem to realize if they are riding the bumper of a car and it stalls and goes dead that they are going to hit that car and possibly send it crashing into who know what! When ones motor shut down the power steering gets heavy making the car hard to steer and the power ABS does not function so hot so that just adds to the trouble! I have been rear-ended 5 times so for & if I did not have to drive I would not! I might add these accidents were not my fault.

I think that every body should be required to take driving lessons and thought about defensive driving and have to take it ever so often to keep there license!

I have ordered a new part that my mechanic requested an ignition switch and floor shifter something. This car has been fine up until now. But this is a very dangerous issue, I still work 4 days, and live in a town where we depend on cars to get around.

I recall an issue back in 2005 GM had a recall on Chevrolets because of a bad ignition switch and I think that it would cause the car to stall & shut down. I had a friend who had an RHR that was in this recall, they said don't use weighted key chines. So is this an issues that GM has had?
