This vehicle burns 1.5qts a week. I cannot afford to get it fixed therefore I can`T say specificaly what the problem is, but I have found others with this make and model with the exact same problem.
The vehicle has developed a tap in the motor, the consumer states that there is no engine light illuminated to state that the vehicle is having any problems.
Recall 00V287000. Took vehicle to dealer ralph Buick, 2501 South federal highway, del ray beach, fl 33483, 561-278-3292; and dealer said no parts would be available until February 2001. However, engine check light stayed on, indicating a problem with engine system. Vehicle kept stalling which may cause a crash. Occupant was unable to jump start vehicle because of defect which could have caused vehicle to explode. Buick will not provide a rental car. Consumer states recall would not be performed due to mileage on vehicle. Signal lights and horn are inoperable.
While accelerating at any speed, the vehicle experiences hesitation, the main computer was replaced and the speedo sending unit was replaced, however the problem still exists.

Vehicle loses power while driving and accelerator pedal is unresponsive. This has been occuring randomly since the first occurrence last December. Vehical has been into dealer service twice already for a total of eight days. Dealer is unable to find cause. Problem happens at highway speed and while idling in traffic. Nearly rear-ended by a tractor trailer unit on the 9 April occurrence.
Vehicle loses power and is unresponsive to accelerator pedal. Happens at idle and highway speeds. Dealer replaced throttle position sensor and main computer modules in Dec. 1998 to correct same problem.
