The contact owns a 1995 Cadillac Eldorado. The contact stated that there was a pin hole leak in the fuel line. The contact stated that there was an abnormal fuel odor inside the vehicle while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the fuel return line was leaking and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The contact called thomson-macconnell Cadillac, Inc., (2820 gilbert ave, cincinnati, oh 45206, (513) 334-4239) and was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 04V110000 (fuel system, gasoline). The contact was notified that the previous owner had the vehicle repaired under the recall. The contact stated that the recall repair included replacing the fuel return line however, the fuel line return was not replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000.

The contact owns a 1995 Cadillac Eldorado. While the contact was having the water pump changed on his vehicle, the mechanic informed him that there was a pinhole leak in the nylon fuel line. Prior to this information, the contact noticed that the vehicle was using more gas than normal. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. NHTSA campaign id number 04V110000 (fuel system gasoline: Delivery: Hoses, lines/ piping/ and fittings) was referenced. The current and failure mileages were 120,000. Updated 7/3/08 updated

1995 Cadillac Eldorado caught on fire in the engine compartment.***transferred to occ***. the fire report stated there may have been a possible small leak occurring in the fuel line from the main line to the harness. This leak was most likely ignited by arcing in the spark line plug cable.

The fire occurred when the consumer attempted to start the vehicle. The consumer noticed that the fuel line had two small holes next to the spark plug wire. (the holes in the fuel line/"rubber line") allowed gas to spray over the entire front of the engine.
