A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

I have had so many issues with this truck ever since we bought it brand new off the lot in 2015. My husband was diagnosed with cancer 3 months after we bought it. I tried to overlook the minor annoyances of the truck in the beginning because of my husband's illness. The constant back and forth to Duke and with my husband getting weaker from treatments the running boards deciding when they wanted to work and not work became a problem. I told the service department at the first oil change. They found nothing wrong. But as soon as I left it happened again. The next problem to arise was losing power at times. I thought it might be a loose battery connection and took it in. They said it was fine.

My husband passed away in September 2016. I’m not the one who dealt with our vehicles- my husband was. So, this is all new to me. I lost my husband, had to take over running our business and raise our 3 boys. So- forgive me if some of the details after this point get a little blurred. I do have all the paperwork supporting my issues with this truck. It’s the dates that maybe a little off. I know I took the truck back in for service May of 2017. I explained to the service desk that the truck at times doesn’t want to go. It loses power when I have to punch the gas. I also told them the running boards at times opened and at times didn’t open. I was asked if I accidentally turned them off. No, I didn’t turn them off- I checked. I also mentioned my brakes squeaking. They checked my brakes and battery- both were fine. But, I still had the issues.

My plate is full and I didn’t have the time or energy to keep going back and forth when they always said the same thing. It’s fine. Jan 17, 2018- too many problems to ignore now. The safety of my kids and me was a priority. I told them something was wrong with the brakes, the running boards are there one minute and gone the next, or only one side comes down, my seats move forward when I hit my brakes. Yes, when I hit my brakes, my driver’s seat moved forward (I made the guy drive it with me) yes it needed a new drivers seat track/frame assembly). They had my truck for almost a week until Jan. 22, 2018. February 17, 2018- I’m back at the dealership the Air conditioning isn’t blowing cold air- it’s hot. The kids keep telling me their seats come on hot by themselves, and the DVD player has issues. All they did was find the AC compressor to condenser line was leaking.

Oh and they had a recall about replacing the line and installing a bracket. April 10,2018- ok back at dealership...running boards I’ve had it, the DVD doesn’t work at all- now the front seats come on heat as well as the back seats while we are driving down the road, again I tell them it’s still lagging and hesitates now to even start. They finally got the ok to replace the battery- but Hello? Why? I’m not a mechanic but something is draining the battery. August 8, 2018- the air conditioner is once again not cooling. They had to order a new condenser. I told them again about my running boards and this time I sent them a video of them. They still didn’t fix them. Oh and my coolant light was on- they had to replace the radiator and thermostat.

December 23, 2020- the screen on the Cadillac cue system doesn’t work. I finally take it in to the dealership- they tell Your warranty is gone.. and it’s going to be $1800 to fix it. OMG- I lost it. I’ve had all this crap go on with this vehicle which a lot has been electrical and you’re telling me you’re not gonna stand behind it. I’ve owned 4 Cadillac's, countless Suburban's, Tahoe’s, GMC vehicles and this is our loyalty? I called GM directly- 2 hours wasted on the phone to get nowhere. Nothing but an I’m sorry. I told the guy- look I know you are the little guy and I’m not mad at you. But GM knows they have this issue with the Cue system- I’ve googled it. The guy at the dealership has replaced 30 of them recently.. and they really want to lose all of the future profit of me purchasing new vehicles over replacing a screen? He said “I’m sorry but until they issue a recall and get sued nothing will happen.”

GM- let me tell you one thing.. the difference between a man and a woman.. A woman doesn’t forget. Loyalty is something you have to earn. It’s also something you can lose quickly when you put greed over doing the right thing.
