This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The contact owns a 2007 Cadillac Escalade esv. The contact stated that the exterior front and rear left side door handles began to separate from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the door handles needed to be replaced. No repairs were made to the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The exterior door handles have pulled out from the door three times. When you go to open the door, the door handle pulls out from the door frame. I just had this happen again for the third time at a cost of $232.72. This could be a safety hazard if you were in a crash and had to have some one open the door from the outside to remove you or your family. It is obviously a design flaw.
