My 2023 Escalade ESV suffered the known engine failure. To make matters worse, I was at the dealership the day before the failure for a routine 30,000 mile service and oil change. The dealership never mentioned the recall or the proposed bandaid of a higher viscosity oil. My engine literally died less than 24 hours later while I was at highway speeds. The dealership left me stranded for around six hours. The L87 recall is completely botched and inadequate. I don't know if there have been any catastrophic injuries due to the failure of the engine and GM's bungled handling of the matter, but I'm fearful they will occur. The Cadillac brand, GM and my local dealer have all lost credibility and brand value due to this issue.
