Service Update. Certain vehicles may have a condition where some capacitors used on the purge pump printed circuit board (PCB), may have unknown performance. These suspect capacitors are used in multiple locations on the PCB. Depending on which capacitors fail, the purge pump may not operate as intended and a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) may illuminate. In addition, there may be pump bearing issues which could also result in stored DTCs and MIL illumination. Dealers are to replace the evaporative emission purge pump.
