Avalanche XL 5.3L

The second time all the lights and buzzers went off, I had lack of power and the check engine light came on and the display showed reduced engine power, service traction control, and service stabilitrak, so again I took off the cable, and went to have the diagnostic reading done at a parts store. The next day I drove it to my mechanic and he cleared all the HISTORY on it and told me not to disconnect the cable if it happens again - but it just did.

I'm asking if anyone knew about the 2010 Chevy Avalanche and the ECM problems that I am having. The check engine light came on and the display showed reduced engine power, service traction control, and service stabilitrak. This had happened to the truck three times now. The first time it would not go into gear and though it started at first, then it stopped and would not start at all, so i took the negative battery cable off for 30 minute and it fixed it .

The second time all the light and buzzers went off - I had a lack of power and the check engine light came on and the display showed reduced engine power, service traction control, and service stabilitrak while I was driving it. So again I waddled home I took of the cable, and went to have the diagnostic reading done at a parts store. The next day I drove it to my mechanic where he put it on a high dollar diagnostic machine and he cleared all the HISTORY on it and told me not to disconnect the cable if it happens again that this time it would show what the problem was.

So now it has happened again, and I am sick because when I bought this in September, I paid 20,000 cash and replaced shocks and tires and new breaks... everything - and I've only put 1000 + miles on it just driving to the store, and one 40 mile trip to camp. And you know damn well the dealership will not do anything to repair it. I bought it to take my camper on trips, and there is no way that I can risk that. I am a single female so being stalled on the highway is a real problem. I have found that the car dealers here are shady.

So does anyone have any suggestions?

Avalanche LT 5.3L V8

The problem occurred like this: Engine check light came up and the car just suddenly dropped the rpm to 1000, it caused the driver to drive under 40km/hr. After turning engine off and on again it resumed but happened randomly on highways again.

It was diagnosed as throttle body position sensor malfunction. Since GM has the kit itself the whole throttle body was not needed to replace. that would be $600 repair, instead I ordered the kit from amazon for $50 and replaced just the sensor motor. The re-learning process of car was little painful, it required to force the engine with transmission shifts to lower the rpm cause it averaged at 3000rpm on idle. But it was done within next 100km.
