I am so sick of this car. I have had to change the body control module and I have replaced the alternator, the battery almost blew up, and fix all the wiring going into the alternator. I will be driving and the car will shut ff on me. Will start coasting and i have to put it into park and than turn the ignition to turn back on. the radio going in and out and the dash goes crazy lighting up. My key also gets locked in the ignition and I've had to jump my car, always keep jumper cable box with me everywhere I go!

I've had this vehicle since March and everything was working fine. one day i'm driving to work and the radio shuts on and off and the dash starts to go hay wire with lights. Saying to service the StabiliTrak. I thought nothing of it until it started more and more frequently and has gotten to the point where i also lose my steering ability. I had almost crashed into oncoming traffic when this happened the first time.

It stills continuously happens periodically while driving and is becoming not only an issue for myself, but also anyone i bring in my vehicle as well as others on the road. especially with winter around the corner and us getting snow soon. i have yet to bring my issue with my car to the dealership because so many other people have had the same issue. Why is there no recall for this? If i get into an accident the manufacturing company can pay the bill for it because this is absolutely ridiculous. If i had known of the issues prior I never would've even put money down on the car.

Was parking my 2014 Chevy Cruze in the driveway on March 17, 2017 when I lost all electrical power. There was no indication of any problem via any type of trouble/check engine lights. Was able to put car in park but was not able to restart the car nor take the key out of the ignition. Called AAA and they replaced the battery. Car started and the exact problem happened again on Monday, July 24, 2017. Called AAA again but the battery was charging just fine. He gave the car a jump and I have not had a problem since. Will be taking it into my local repair shop on Monday, July 31 and will post an update. With as many complaints as I have read on this site, I am surprised that GM has not found what is causing this issue. It is definitely an accident waiting to happen for owners of this car.

While driving the whole dash board electrical components went dead and then came back on. The lights indicated to check the stabilitrack, traction control, check engine, door open light, etc. . . . all dashboard lights came on. Was able to make it home safely.

I took my car into the dealership Thursday, telling them it didn't feel right when I was driving it. I told them my battery was really fluctuating, and I didn't feel safe. They checked everything over, tightened a few cables, and said everything was fine.

Well, less than 24hrs later, at 2am, my car broke down while I was coming home from work. I was going 40ish mph, and it felt like someone slammed on my emergency brake while I was driving. All of my dash lights shot on, and everything inside my car died. I had it towed to the dealership, and they replaced the negative battery cable, claiming it fixed the problem. Well, it didn't... (Issue 3/4).

I left my car sitting in my garage for 4 days. When I went to drive it on day 4, my car was, once again, dead. I had my parents jump it, and I took it back to my dealership. They looked everything over and told me my car was fine. HA. (Issue 2/4).

I pulled out of my garage to go to work, and when I put the car from R into D, it jerked. Then, it was very hard to turn my steering wheel, but by the time I got to the end of my driveway, my car was fine. Well, I pulled out of my drive, drove for MAYBE 25 yards, and my car completely died once again. I called my dealership, and freaked out. They then fixed my car over the holiday weekend (leaving me without a vehicle), and returned it to me 5 days later. They replaced the fuse block. (Issue 4/4). Ever since, my transmission has been slipping and my battery still fluctuates while I drive. I am trying to work with the dealership to get to a solution (out of this car), but it is not going well. I will NOT be buying another Chevy. Ever.

I had this car for a year and a half when this issue happened the first time (yes, the first...). I was parked in a parking deck overnight (the 5th floor), and I came out the next day to a dead battery. I called Chevy, and they told me I must have left a light on overnight (which I know I didnt, because I never use my interior lights). A tow service came to the 5th floor and charged my battery, and I then took my car to the dealership. They charged the battery and told me my car was fine. Little did I know, this was the first of many headaches...

After taking it to the dealership multiple times it started acting up again but this time the power steering went out while I was driving with the radio, window power, etc. This caused me to slide while driving which caused an accident. The dealership says that it isn't covered under either GM or the extended warranty that I purchased. They changed out the negative lead but couldn't do anything for the positive one. I will never suggest this car to anyone ever. Avoid it at all costs.

My car will have all the locks unlock while driving then it will loose all power including steering wheel. Then it will come back on. So when the locks do that I try to pull over. The first time it happened I was turning onto the highway. Thank God no one was behind me. Then it happened while I was parking in my garage. OnStar ran a system check but could find nothing wrong. I am waiting on the dealership to call me back so I can take it in to be serviced. I will not drive it unless I have no choice. I am afraid to do so.

Dear Chevy/GM

Car Complaint Letter

On December 28th, 2013 I purchased a Chevy Cruz 2014 at Chapman Chevrolet Dealership in Tempe, AZ .Within days, I began to experience the following problems related to the vehicle: • The steering wheel when we test drove the car would stick and when driving at highway speed it would twitch I asked our sales associate whose about it while I was driving he told me it was common with a new car • On January 4, 2014 my Husband Max brought the car to the dealership because the steering was getting worse. The dealership said they test drove the car and scanned for codes and said nothing was found. • The issue still did not resolve and Chapman did not give us any direction so we called GM for assistant because we did not feel safe driving the vehicle. GM contacted us and we had to bring the car back in we were told there had been other cases of this situation. We brought back in on January 9, 2014. We were told it would take 5 days. By the end of the 6th day we called for an update and it took 2 more days for an answer. We did not receive our car for a total of 12 days. • In April I was at a stoplight behind one car when the light turned green we proceeded through the light the car ahead of me had to stop for a pedestrian I hit the brakes at that point the screen on my dash went blank and the car shut down and I went into the back end of the truck. This problem with the car gradually got worse. We would be driving and the main screen where the radio and back camera is and the dash would just shut down and the steering wheel would lock when we were driving this almost caused another accident at which point we called the Chevy Thorobred in Chandler, AZ that is a block from our house because we did not feel safe in our car anymore. • The service department found a faulty battery cable which was causing the car to lose power. We also had an recall on our car for the front axle that they fixed and our air conditioner shuts of which did not get fixed

My husband and I have attempted to resolve the issue with the dealership, after the first issue with the steering wheel when we only had the car for a week. We were pretty upset that when I brought up the steering wheel when I test drove it we were told it was because the car was new and there ended up being an issue with it. We were rudely treated by the sales manager who merely responded that once we drove it off the lot it was ours. The second attempt to resolve the issue of not wanting to be in a vehicle we did not feel safe in was just recently when our car was shutting down. We went to the Thorobred Chevy where our car was being serviced and asked to sit down with a sales associate to see what our options were. It was a Thursday night and a gentleman named Danny and Caltin sat with us and we explained our concern of the car not being safe and that we have only had it 7 months and the issues we were having were significant issues for a new car. Caltin one of the sales person was obviously tired because as he was speaking with us his eyes would start to shut which was very unprofessional which in turn my husband and I said we would come back on Saturday when he could be more alert. That Saturday my husband I came back in to pick our car up and discuss our options we met with Danny again and he had his sales manager Sam with him. We explained our concerns to Sam that we have not had this car very long and I was in an accident and the issues seem to be getting worse. What he told us next for a resolution was very upsetting and unacceptable. He told us to get another vehicle we explained we can only afford one car payment we were very confused of what he was getting at. Finally he told us to have the Cruz default in our loan and he would get us another car under a different bank. He told us a repo would just be on our record for 7 years and that is all that would happen. This was very insulting to my intelligence that I would not know the bank will not just give us the Cruz for free it would get reposed and they would come after us for the rest of the loan which would put my husband and I in a financial bind.

I am certain these employees are not the type of people you want representing your fine company. Moreover, I know that you stand by your vehicles, and the one I purchased is clearly not up to company standards.

I have suffered a great deal of personal hardship, including lost wages and emotional distress, trying to resolve this issue. Please immediately investigate how this has occurred and contact me at your earliest convenience so we can discuss appropriate compensation. To date GM has denied anything went wrong with our car. Nice to know we are driving a potential death trap.

Have had the car almost 2 years now and it has 32,000 miles on it. At first it was just every blue moon while I was driving I would lose all power in my car. The radio and lights would flash on and off. Then as a month or two passed it became more frequent then went to every day this would happen multiple times and even at stop lights. At first the car would just feel like it wanted to die and give out but didn't. Then all of a sudden the car would die and I would have no power and it wouldn't start for about 10-15 minutes then start up like nothing was wrong. At high speeds such as 75 the car lights and radio would flash on and off and a serviceability warning would flash on the dash. Then I would get a message on the dash telling me to roll down then roll up the drivers side window to unlock. I took it in to get it fixed and the guy tried to tell us it was a dirty battery. My husband knew better than that so they are still trying to find something wrong with it. I'm so glad I found this site its been very helpful.
