The manufacturing paint was poor quality and began peeling at approximately 15,000 miles. I had to perform a touch up / repaint of the front hood at 20,000 miles. No problems on the hood paint since.

It started with about a dime size blemish on rear roof area, thought something got on my car to damage paint so when I went for my oil change around 35,000 I didn't mention it to the dealer, then at about 41,000 it got worse pictures were sent to Chrysler they rejected it, over time got worse now at 51,000 oil change ask dealer to send more pictures of entire roof rejected again. So now my car has turned into a monster peeling, cracking, bubbling, fading. Case worker said there is no recall on this problem so she will close case. They know there is a problem with there clear coat but won t admit it, I have a 2000 Chevy pickup that has 270,000 miles and the paint looks better than a 2008 Chrysler 300 with 51,000 sad. I bought this car for $35,000 you would think the paint{clear coat} would be of better quality or at least Chrysler would stand behind there product, I just started to notice and take pictures of this problem on other Chrysler vehicles so far I've found more Sebrings with this problem than 300s but I just started don t know if it will help but now I know I m not the only one with this problem, maybe Chrysler plans to fade away like there paint so why help customers.

Car is painted Black, there are white spots appearing in the paint on the hood, along with with fading. There is another area where the paint appears to be rubbing off. This car costs too much for there to be a defect in the paint, especially on the hood where it is readily visible!
