I am not sure who manufactured the airbags in 1999 Chrysler 300S, but I am wondering what would cause an airbag to have a hole in it and where the hole is, it was frayed, my daughter was the passenger when they were hit on the front passenger quarter panel and passenger door, the airbag deployed but had a big hole in it and was frayed where the hole was, like a flag that has been blowing in the wind for years, I am coming up on statue of limitations so your immediate response would be so appreciated!!!! my lawyer does have pictures of the airbag with the hole in it, and showing also how it was frayed. My daughter sadly lost her life in this accident, she was wearing her seatbelt. This accident occurred November 29th 2014 on hwy 23 near waite park mn, car was in motion, her name is [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

"takata recall" on Nov. 04,2015 a car pulled out in front of me. I had the right of way and was moving approx. 30-35mph. I T-boned the other vehicle. The airbags failed to deploy. There were 2 other passengers other than myself. The driver had hit his leg under the dash. I was in the front passengers seat and bothe my knees hit the lower part of the dash. My seat belt did work on impact and I went to the hospital by ambulance. My daughter inlaw was in the back seat behind the drivers side and she suffered 2 bumps on her head. As for me, I didnt have any broken bones but I sufered severe bruising. I was in shock and minutes after the accident I started feeling sharp pains to the left part of my chest constantly like needles stabing over and over. It was difficult for me to breath. I couldn't get a full breath. The last few days I've started having muscle spasms in my left side of my neck and upper left arm/shoulder. Other pain I've been having I've explained to the doctor and others and they tell me that it is my siatic (don't know how to spell it) nerve. If I stand wrong or reach up with my arms the pain goes from my lower back and all the way down the back of my legs. It's a deep aching pain that seems to be aggrivating. It is worse in the mornigs or when it it cold. I have to take muscle relaxers, dont know if there is any permanent damage. Only time will tell. Cat scan and X-rays came back ok. No broken bones. I have the police report of the incident but at this time I do not have the resources to scan and download. If its needed I can provide it at a later time. I have an attorney.

My airbags exploded on my Chrysler 300M 1999 July 8th. The car doesn't have a recall on the airbags. Clean title. I came home from work, parked my car and everything was fine. 3 hours later I had to run to the store and as I walked towards my car I noticed both of my front airbags out. I looked around my car to see if there was any damage and I couldn't find anything. I assumed that the explosion of the airbags could've been due to the severe weather we had in our area, there was some flooding and also the hot/humid weather. I didn't move my car after seeing the airbags out, the car was left as is. I called my insurance company and told them what happened and they sent one of their agents to take a look and take pictures and check the car out himself. He was surprised to hear that airbags exploded without the car being in an accident, but he said that he would have to talk with some other people and see what they have to say because they've never come across a problem like this. About a week later he sent another agent to take a look at the car and he was surprised as well, he took a look at the car, inside and out, couldn't find anything. This was basically an investigation at this point. A week later the first agent calls back to notify me that they are unable to pay us for this damage and that we are on our own because they don't know what to do, they didn't know who to put the blame on. I then decided to call Chrysler tell them what happened and they said they didn't know what to do either and also told me they couldn't help because it's a 99. In order to replace the airbags I would have to pay 4K out of pocket.

I was recently in an auto accident and hit a driver who had turned in front of me when I had the right of way. I was traveling 55 mph when my 1999 Chrysler 300M smashed into the man who tuned in front of me. To make a long story short, both of my front air bags did not go off during the crash. Who can I contact or what can I do about this.

I have a crack in my dashboard above the passenger side airbag. The crack is approx. 10" long. I have learned from other owners that the crack is a defect in the dashskin material of my 1999 Chrysler 300M. I am concerned that the crack may allow the airbag to deploy too strongly or that the repair of the dashskin my restrict the proper operation of my passenger airbag. The crack is also unsightly.

A little under 50,000 miles when I got the vehicle. About a month later two vertical cracks appeared along the seams of where the airbag deploys. A friend informed me that they knew someone who had cracks in their dash too...in the same location! I thought that this was unusal. I did a little research and found out that this wasn't an isolated incident. Several other 300M owners experience the same problem. There is indeed a problem with the materials used. I called repair shops and they said they would not touch it (due to the proximity of the air bag/ legal issues) I'm afraid that in the event of an accident the air bag will not deploy properly and will cause bodily injury to a passenger if this issue is not resolved.

I have a Chrysler 300M- 1999 model. For no reason, the dash now has a 6 inch split over the passenger airbag. I talked with the dealer, and they said nothing has caused it, and Chrysler refuses to fix the defect. I think this is a safety issue, and I believe Chrysler should stand behind their product and fix their problem.

This is a huge problem with top of the line 300M cars. My car has only 60000 miles and the dash is cracked on both sides of the passenger side airbag. Every dash repair person I called said this was their #1 complaint for 300M but they will not fix them due to liability issues. As consumers we are lead to think we are buying Chrysler top of the line car. Now they have a wide spread problem and are not willing to help loyal customers. The consumer must be protected with this terrible issue.

I own a 1999 Chrysler 300M and the passanger side air bag is in the dash and has developed cracks around the air bag in the dash I have called and talked to Chrysler customer service and complained about this and they basically told my out of warranty out of luck. Basically I would like something taking care of from Chrysler what if this problem happens and I happen to be in a car accident and the passanger side airbag doesnt deploy for this reason now whats going to happen lawsuit, los of life maybe something should be done about this and I know im not the only one who has this problem with there 300M and also the seal around the doors of the car have a problem of shrinking they have shrunk so much sometimes not able to open the door. Theres another problem there if im in an accident and the car starts on fire and I cant get my door open because the weather gasket has shrunk so much I can't get the door open then what. I believe Chrysler should take a look at the problems with there cars more and listen to the customers

The dashboard on my 1999 Chrysler 300M has split on the right side just to the left of the air bag. My car has 36,00 miles and has been in a garage most of the time. I am concerned the air bag will not work properly. Chrysler is not willing to repair the dashboard because the year warranty is out. The dash should certainly outlast the first set of tires and the original battery. I also know of several other 300M's with splits in the same spot. Is this a safety issue with right side airbag?
