The contact owns a 2002 Chrysler Concorde. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the technician diagnosed that the air bag needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 43,000.
Beginning in 2005, the airbag light on our Chrysler Concorde dashboard began intermittent on/off while driving. The problem persisted, but knowing it was out of warranty and how difficult electrical problems are, we ignored it. Finally it remained on in 2006 and in 2010 we had the airbag module replaced by our dealer. The repaired failed and now seems to be a defective wiring harness. The car remains at the dealer. The pare is unavailable and the cost could be thousands for a car worth 7K. Has Chrysler had problems with this module or harness that could have be a safety recall?
