This tranny on our Dodge Caravan is working so poorly now, we feel it is about to completely self-destruct. Too damned bad Chrysler's warranty is 5 years/100,000 kms because our van only has 91,000 kms on it, but we are over the 5 years. Our van has been well maintained by us at a local reputable independent garage. Also has been driven sensibly, almost exclusively by me and my wife.
WE HAVE OWNED APPROXIMATELY 18 VEHICLES MANUFACTURED BY CHRYSLER CORPORATION OVER THE LAST 50 YEARS. THIS IS THE FIRST AND ONLY TIME WE HAVE EVER FACED HAVING TO REPLACE A TRANSMISSION OR DO A TOTAL TRANNY REBUILD. Many of these vehicles were older when we bought them but they served us well. We have had this DODGE CARAVAN 3 or 4 years, bought it at a dealer, and it was in good shape then. HOPEFULLY CHRYSLER WILL COVER THE TRANNY COSTS.
