Lots of play in steering 7 to 8 inchs. Had to replace rack and pinion. Cost $650. Went out again August of 2010.

Lost of steering and brakes due to cracking and failure of subframe. The consumer took the vehicle to the service dealer for repairs it cost approximately $1040. The consumer then found out there was a recall for the control arms. The consumer contacted the dealer to receive reimbursement for repairs he had to pay, the consumers claim was denied and he was told that the warranty had expired. (recall #99V215000)

Consumer states she placed her auto in reverse turned the steering wheel so that she could turn her car and heard a pop noise, then when she placed her auto in drive to go forward the steering column would not turn the wheel. The steering wheel turned but the wheels did not.
