Dealer will typically deny the problem until you come in and let the car do it at the dealer, with an employee witnessing it. This may have changed by now---hope so. I carry a spare key in my wallet, but it's just from a hardware store so does not have the chip necessary to start the engine---it just gets me back in the car. But the factory key is obviously in the ignition, so it "evens out". Copy of factory key costs about $16.00, and you need BOTH original keys to program the copy.
