Sebring Limited Convertible 3.5L

I was driving at 70mpg on interstate when I lost power. I looked at tachometer and it was at 0. There was no power steering, engine had shut off completely without warning. There were no other indications (other gauges were working, radio still playing, lights still on), There was no Check Engine Light code. I pulled over and the car started up no issues. I continued for 10 more miles and the exact same thing happened. I replaced the crankshaft position sensor only because it was a cheap part. Very concerned about my commute and I've lost trust in the vehicle.

I have just bought this car a little over two weeks ago. Yesterday my daughter and I were driving home and the car just shuts off randomly..... It hasn't been giving me any problems and no lights on the dash have com on. (well until last night) the car wouldn't crank and I ended up having to get it towed home..... also, I know its not the battery..... when roadside assistance got there they hooked up and checked the battery and it said I needed to "replace battery" but yet all my light and everything worked. it just wouldn't crank. and then the battery charger said my battery was charged...... fml..... here goes a little more....

Sebring Convertible Touring 2.7L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 42,000 miles

Coasting down a hill at 35 mph with no throttle, engine quit. Didn't realize it until I had no power steering or brakes. Wrestled car to stop and it started right up. If my daughter had been driving it..... could have been quite serious. Took a lot of strength to steer and stop car.
