I am beyond devastated ! I went back East for a visit , found My dream car there , bought it, Paid good money to ship it to My home in Kansas. Love eveything about the car. Been looking for a convertible for YEARS! Than the un-thinkable happened.. AT ANY given time the Chrysler 2008 Sebring Touring Convertible Accelerates at TOP speed without control and you immediately have to be ready to brake it hard, turn off the key, , put in neutral or park , put emergency brake etc.. That is if your lucky enough to not have crashed into the car in front of you , or get hit by the car behind you when you have to come to a halt! Could be at a Red Light, Backing out as well, any random time at all. THAN I check on the internet & low & behold , SAME major complaints over the years!!!! MY GOD I am not going to die in this car or wind up killing someone. I contacted Chrysler & OF course they know NOTHING.. I don't believe them.... What the hell can I do now???? I need a car, I paid to ship the car, & Now I can't use it. I can't sell a deathtrap car to anyone & why can't it be fixed. I will sue if something isn't done. This is awful.... I have never been so upset & so scared in My life. Please ANYONE if you have any info Please contact Me. Thank You. Marianne ( A Very Upset Car Buyer )

Even contacted Chrysler ! Never heard about this problem.. Go on line & FOR YEARS people have had major problems, almost killed too. Just from a car out of control at any given time.. HELP!!!!!!!

Sebring Touring 2.7L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 83,799 miles

Went to turn around pulled into my driveway and put the car in reverse to back out and park on the street. When I took my foot off the brake the car accelerated at a high rate on it's own. I had not touched the gas pedal at all and was able to slam the brakes on and stop it. This makes driving the car very scary!

Pulled into a parking place and stopped. Put the car in park and let off the brake and the rpms jumped up over 3000 then came back down. I shut the car off but was very cautious when I came out to go home a little later.

If you don`t have both feet on the brake pedal whan this happens you are going to hit the car or pedestrian in front of you. This is supposed to be our family car and we are afraid to take it anywhere. We all pile into my 92 Suzuki samurai instead.

Sebring Limited V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 95,000 miles

As I was turning into a park in a second level car garage my car accelerated on its on. It ran as if it was in the highest gear (so and the car hit the park bump, broke it from the concrete and then hit and bent the steel railing. A little more force and my mother and I would have fallen several feet, probably to our deaths. We were injured and the car totaled. I still have flashbacks.
