Chrysler Town and country would not start. I put the key in the ignition, turned it on, the van would not start however windows would roll down and radio would play. Replaced the battery and issue remained. Would stop to get gas a D when. I got back in the van it would not start. This happened several times. One minute it ran just fine and next thing you know it wouldn't start. Leaving me stranded with my 3 kids numerous times. Took it to a dealership and had to pay to replace the tipm. Now there are issues with the rear ac. It works when it wants to. Some days it works just fine and other days it doesnt. It is currently in the shop to have this issue resolved. I have videos of exactly what happened at the gas stations when we were stranded. The video shows my husband putting the key in and the car not starting.
I recently purchased a used 2012 (09/11 production date) Chrysler town 7 country touring, van, it had 063,200.0 miles when received. Purchased from a honest and reputable local used car dealer. (it was a new car trade in from a dealer 45 miles away) after driving the van for aprox. 300 miles the air bag light in the dash came on and would not reset or go out. The dealer tried to clear the code but could not. They determined that it was something related to the drivers seat. At their recommendation I took the van to the local Chrysler/Jeep/Ram dealer to be checked. The dealer charged $95 to check it and said that there is a short in the drivers head rest which is non-repairable and will cost $725 (plus the $95 charge) to replace the head rest. This safety system failure is not covered by the factory after the 36/36 is expired. I called the Chrysler factory information line and was again told that this safety system failure is not covered by Chrysler. In researching this issue I have seen that Chrysler has had at least 840,000 recalls involving head rests. How can I get Chrysler to repair this serious problem. The dealer and Chrysler said that the SRS/air bags will not work if the light is on. This means I have no air bag function should I be involved in an accident. I am very concerned and feel that a serious safety system failure like this should be a factory covered repair for at least 150,000 miles. I have been denied the repair by Chrysler, regardless of the potential for serious injury or death if involved in an accident when the SRS system will not work. I am a disabled veteran and need this van for transportation.
I got into a car accident hit from side my car sustained over 5,000 of damage my children and I were in the car at the time the airbags did not deploy. I reported this to Chrysler they just advised me to go to dealer to have airbags checked. Never offered to do any further inquiry. Currently, my van starts at times and at others does not my new battery which was costly continues to be drained I called Chrysler they said it would cost 145. Just to diagnose the problem I don't have that kind of money available to check the car I said to the service dept. "you know these vans are experiencing these problems yet you still charge me so much to have a known problem checked"" they said yes do you want to make an apt." Of course I did not.
While driving vehicle began to act strangely. Windshield wipers running, headlights turned off, vehicle came out of gear, then stalled. Total loss of power while driving down highway with children in vehicle. No lights, no flashers. Instrument panel began to blink. Only way to recover was to pull battery cable and reset computer. Multiple relays inside tipm module chattering while having issue.

Recall notice P25/NHTSA 14V-234. Rear quarter vent window switch. I was first notified of this in September 2014. On 26 September 2014, Chrysler dealer demontrond disconnected the switch and told me I would be notified to return to have the replacement switch installed. Since then I have called demontrond on 09 January 2015, 24 August 2015 and 14 March 2016 to expedite, and each time I'm told Chrysler haven't shipped the replacement switch to them! this is not good enough!

The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the blind spot modulator sensor was installed in the bumper, which was not the proper placement. The vehicle was not repaired. Have taken to dealer time after time they tell me that they dont have the parts to fix it what happens if it burns up is dothan Chrysler liable or my insurance L would like to get my car fixed or to know the prosess to make them by it back just maby that whould get them off thier ass and get the parts to fix

Driving on 15 Feb. Stopped at a stop sign about to cross 4 lane road. Car shut off as I hit the gas to cross the road. Car could not be restarted. Had to push vehicle to a safe stopping place. Diagnosed as PCM failure. Item was still under warranty. Since failure, continue to have starting problem and perpetual warning light that smart beam headlight sensor for the automatic high beams is out of alignment. Chrysler stated they cannot duplicate starting issues so nothing they can do and that the sensor warning is not associated and needs to be fixed out of pocket.
Blind spot safety indicators located in the side mirrors intermittently activate and stay on. The indicators in the side mirrors and activation ping are a distraction and annoying when driving at night. This happens intermittently when stationary and in motion. Also have received the rear vent switch recall well over a year ago and had it disconnected at a dealership. I was told I would be put on the list and notified when they received a replacement switch. I have yet to be called. I did however receive a second recall notice, made a return trip to a dealership and was told the same thing as before. Both of these problems appear to be a common defect. I would hope Chrysler could correct these problems in a timely fashion and at no expense to the owner. This is my 3rd Dodge/Chrysler van I have owned. I consider myself a loyal customer and have been very satisfied with my two previous vans. I wish I could say the same about this one.
Twice in the past 6 months, the blind spot detection has completely malfunctioned and stopped working. It is a known defect, that the module for the blind spot system is located where it is exposed to the elemants, and the module plus the sensors are not sealed properly to protect them from the elemants. Both times, the repair was over 1,500 dollars, plus it made the blind spot system unusable. Both times, it started messing up after the weather started getting bad. ( lots of rain and snow) and the system started to malfunction while the vehicle was in motion. The dealership has stated it is a known defect, and it is posted on several car complaint forums. The blind spot module, and sensors, are not sealed properly, and are installed in a place that leaves them exposed. When the system malfunctions, the system disables itself, and the mirror light indicators remain on, and the car keeps dinging. The lights remain on, creating a driving hazard, especially at night, because it is hard to use them, because the are luminated constantly with the bright triangle light. The constant dinging is very, very distracting and not to mention frustrating and annoying. It is ridiculous that my 28,000 dollar vehicle has a safety feature that every few months malfunctions, and then costs over 1,500 dollars to fix, and the dealership acknowledged it as a known problem.

The module and sensors are placed where they are exposed to the elemants, and they are not properly sealed either. It's ridiculous that my 28,000 dollar vehicle has a safety feature that keeps failing, and costs over 1,500 dollars to repair, and then 3 months later breaks again!! the bsm (blind spot module) fails after the vehicle is driven repeatedly in bad weather. Which in effect sho R ts out the sensors. It is a well known problems on the car complaint websites, and the dealership acknowledged it was a known problem also.

Upon entering and pressing the start button, the van starts and immediately dies. Dash is dead, but radio and center stack still lit up. Press the button again to shut everything off and try again. The van will usually start after a delay. This is in addition to cranking for a long time and not starting at all. This was happening even after we had the engine heads and transmission replaced under warranty. This was an intermittent problem but is now happening about 4 times daily.
In October 2014 (approx. Mileage of 40K) the blind spot monitoring system stopped working. Did some research and determined I had a bad radar sensor but they cost $900 each so we turned off the blind spot monitoring system. February 2016 (mileage of 53K) the backup camera and bumper sensors quite working and we noticed a hot wire smell. Pulled out the driver's side blind spot monitoring sensor and found it badly corroded and the sensor separating at the seams also found fuse blown. Replaced the fuse with the bad sensor disconnected and put a new fuse in. Camera came back on for about ten seconds before going black again when fuse blew again. Had smoke coming out of passenger side rear blind spot sensor area. Found the wires melted on the connector and I had to snuff the wires out with water and cut the sensor cable to get the hot components out of the vehicle to prevent a fire. I then removed the passenger side sensor, terminated the loose wires with wire nuts and put a new fuse it. Camera and bumper sensors are working fine now but blind spot monitoring is not functional due to the two bad sensors. I see two issues, first the blind spot sensors which are sold as safety features failed at 3 years of use not just one sensor but both indicating it is a poorly engineered part not a defective part. Secondly is the fusing size or wiring correct for this circuit. As the fuse should blow before wires start to melt. To buy a new wiring harness and the two sensors will cost $1700 and the sensor will fail again in 3 years if no modifications are made to the sensor. Internet searches show many complaints about sensor failure and complaints entered in nhsta database.
Vehicle dash power cycled, all alarms came on, gauges stopped working, A/C quit, windows will not work, windshield wipers will not turn off, turn signals quit, cruise quit, power doors will not open, radio/entertainment system failed. "no bus" displayed on evic (dash). This has happened at startup and while driving streets or highway speeds. Pulling battery cables off to reset does not work. Problem just seems to clear up on its own.
