Manual sliding doors on both sides do not work. This must be a defect. I was told the problem is with the hinges and rollers. The auto repair shop wants to charge $615 to fix each door!!
My 2005 Dodge Caravan's power locks stopped working about a yr ago (2009) I tried replacing the fuse, new battery. This did not correct the problem. There is only one keyed entry into the vehicle which is on the drivers door which forces you to crawl all around the vehicle to open the other 3 door. In the even of an emergency this would be a huge safety issue. I know from reading other forums that thousands of other 2005 Dodge Caravan owners have this same problem. Apparently Dodge is aware of it because they have a software program update for it.
The power door locks suddenly quit working on my 2005 Caravan. After looking at the internet I discovered that this is a common problem with this van and Dodge knows about it. This issue needs to have a recall issued to make Dodge fix the problem. Not having door locks is very dangerous. Did the internet fix once. Lasted about 1 year.
2005 Dodge Caravan. Power door locks do not work. Have to pull a 20 amp iod fuse to reset the system. Only way to unlock doors is from driver door, then crawl throughout van to manually unlock doors. This is a safety problem for my children or if immediate access to vehicle is required.
The power locks stopped working. I feel that this is a safety concern since while driving down the road with my children they could open the doors. It is supposed to lock automatically but I can't even manually lock it. Also the headlights randomly shut off while driving.

Power locks randomly quit working without warning. If you disconnect the battery or pull the iod fuse and put it back in the locks start to work again.
2005 Dodge Caravan, power locks on doors, doors fail too lock when engaged, when the van is running doors usually lock between 20 mps or 30 mph I believe that this needs too be looked into it appears too be a safety feature as T doorscould accidentally opening and causing loss of life or injury too passengers. I have checked online and it seems too be a common problem in this vehicle, temporary fix is too reset the relays but, after awhile it continues and is not any longer a remedy for future fixes.
I have a 2005 Dodge Caravan SXT. Power locks quit working. Can not unlock with remote key, must use key in lock to open. I was told to disconnect the battery and the iod fuse for ten minutes and reconnect. Locks work awhile then quit. I was told that Dodge had a soft ware fix but, it would cost about one hundred dollars. I don't think it is right to charge for problem they created and seem to know about it. If there was an emergency and you needed to access the van quickly it would be impossible to do it quickly if you have to fumble with the key. Also you couldn't lock it quick enough from the inside. I think there should be a recall on this problem. I noticed on the internet a number of people are fighting this problem as well.
'05 Dodge Caravan auto door lock failures. Sometimes minutes, sometimes days. Fuse must be pulled. Never know when it will cease working. Worried if I carry children in my van. Is there a recall?
1. electric door locks stopped working suddenly from both the key control pad and interior switches. The sliding side door also did not operate 2. it is persistent since it has happened. The lights blink so you think there is no problem. As a result you have to use the key and manually open or lock all the doors. Safety concerns with a minivan designed to haul around families, security concerns with theft/vandalism and entering the vehicle, securing property while leaving. Pulled the iod fuse and replaced after 1 minute as described in the below link. It seems like a common problem with over 150 documented complaints (under 2 separate titles) www.carcomplaints.com/Dodge/Caravan/2005/electrical/power_door_locks_quit_working.shtml. I plan to bring it to a Dodge the dealer.
Power door locks stopped working on my 2005 Dodge Caravan SXT. Dealer claims no liability nor does Dodge. This is a safety issue as the vehicle's back door/lift gate will not lock at all.
I have a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan that consistently has power lock failures. I have been to many forums on the internet and it appears to be a common problem with 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan owners. There are no recalls for this defect.
My power door locks have failed to work on my 2005 Dodge Caravan SXT. I have no idea why they stopped but I immediately did a search on the net and found a # of other Caravan owners with same probelm. Apparently you can fix it by removing the fuse and the negative terminal from the battery. That fix did not work for me so it's off top the dealer I guess. Do the right thing and issue a recall. It's obvious there is a problem. Do a search on the internet.

Problem: The door locks on my 2005 Dodge Caravan quit working with both interior and remote controls. Data: The web site below is one of several sites that address this problem. With over 250 entries at this one web site describing a problem identical to mine, it is my opinion that the problem with Dodge door locks is not an isolated problem, but a systemic problem caused by a design fault. I also believe that this problem is a safety issue because the operator looses control of the door locks. autoforum.classifieds1000.com/Dodge-grand_caravan/power_locks_will_not_lock_or_unlock.
