The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that the air bag light illuminated on an instermittent basis. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, but the dealer could not diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in the recall associated with NHTSA campaign id number 10V008000 (air bags: Frontal: Sensor control module). The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 67,000. Updated 03/05/12 updated 03/06/12

The dealer advised the contact that the air bags sensor had failed and would need to be replaced. The dealer also stated that if the vehicle was involved in a crash, the air bags would not deploy upon impact as long as the light remained illuminated. The approximate failure mileage was 41,000 and the current mileage was 44,209. Updated 5/3/10 updated 05/10/10
