On January 2016 while driving My Dodge Charger RT my car lights and wipers started going off and on. Next thing, car turned off. Almost had an accident. Car was towed to Cerritos Dodge and I paid $125.00 and they stated it was electrical failure. Again month after car did the same thing. Car lost power and almost caused an accident.

Car was taken again to Cerritos Dodge. Again I paid $125.00. They stated it was Alternator and Battery. I went ahead had that replaced somewhere else. 3 days later car lost power and for the 3rd time I almost hit another car I really got scared. Car was taken again to Dodge In Cerritos and they kept the car several days. I paid again $125.00 and service department stated car only needed key battery and car needed to be re-programmed.

I drove the car back home and several weeks later car turned off again for the 4th time and I almost hit a person walking. Car was taken to Cerritos Dodge again and after 3 weeks they stated that it was alternator that was causing the problem. Alternator was replace with a new one. now Cerritos wants to charge $800 for another alternator.

Car just stopped in the middle of the right lane on 95 South in Miami - very dangerous situation - no lights so I had no hazard lights - nothing - just dead - very hard to tow - Road Ranger came after 40 minutes of having to stand in highway - terrifying - car could not be towed - had to go on flatbed due to the way it just died.

Unbelievable - has just under 39,000 miles - so still young car - makes no sense that this is not a problem covered by warranty - I have had Ford's my entire life without any problems - I see this with Dodge as huge problem - so many recalls out there but not finding this as a recall -

hard to trust the Dodge Dealership as they already let me down once by not being honest with me about the headlight recall - wanted to charge me $600.00 for the headlight which is under recall.

Charger Hemi

I was driving my 2011 Dodge Charger all of sudden start losing power and cut completely off. The vehicle lost complete power. There was no electrical power at all. The power locks, the trunk latch, and lights will not work. I had to have it towed to the dodge dealership in West Monroe, La. waiting to be fixed. It has been there over a week and yet to hear any information about my vehicle. I am very frustrated and the service department for dodge is a joke.

Update from Sep 20, 2014: alternator failure cost 889.00 this is ridiculous car is not even 3 years old

Update from Sep 22, 2014: well i need a new alternator and new battery which cost me 1200 dollars. My car had a burning smell start stalling and every thing when out. this is unheard of. That a battery and alternator goes out without any type of warning

Dodge Chargers are terribly assembled. I have a 2011 Dodge Charger that has been nothing but costly repairs since owning it. First my head light assembly kept burning out my bulbs. 5 bulbs replaced in a 2 month period. $50 to repair each time by dealership. Then after all that a recall comes out, but no money back for my repairs. Second, I found out my rim is not a rim, just a hubcap glued on to the actual rim to look like chrome rims. The hubcap came off and they tell me I have to spend $150 for a new wheel. What a rip off.

Now yesterday my car showed battery saver mode. I took it up to the dealership and they're too booked, so I left. Later that day, I take my wife and kids to the mall and the car radio would not work, then the wipers came on, and the steering wheel locked up and I almost wrecked into another car. As all that was happening, I had Dodge on the phone asking about the battery saver mode message and they couldn't believe it and told me to turn off car, get out and away from vehicle. They sent a tow truck out. Now today the dealership tells me it's the alternator and it will cost $150 for looking at it and $800 to fix it. $950 to fix a three year old car from Dodge.

Now I will never buy another Dodge. They are garbage, trash, junk, and cheaply made. Buyers beware. DO NOT BUY DODGE!!!!!

Charger 3.6L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 55,000 miles

I was driving home on the freeway after picking up my kids. The battery saver message came on. Dash lights started flickering. I got the freeway. AC started blowing hot. Radio cut off. Windows stopped working. Rpms started going crazy. I tried to find somewhere to stop as my gas pedal barely worked. Abs. Brake and lights on dash came on. Lost power steering and barely muscled my car around a car braking in front of me and finally came to a stop.

Luckily I had unlocked doors before complete power failure. I had to wait 2 hours in the Los. Vegas heat for a tow truck to arrive with my two young kids. The car is at the dealer now. Service was closed so we'll see what they have to say tomorrow. Thanks Dodge for almost getting in accident....

Charger SE 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 55,700 miles

I have a practically new Charger, only 55,700 miles on it. One day while driving, I started to hear a slight noise. I got home and all kind of lights popped on, then the radio wouldn't come on, and then the dash said it was in Battery Saver Mode, now the car won't even start. I took it to the dealership only for them to charge me 55 dollars to take a look at the car, and then almost charge me for a new battery that I couldn't get a refund for. Now it seems to be the alternator which is $403.00, plus labor. I'm a single mom. I thought new cars weren't suppose to have these issues. What do I do? Who do I call? I don't have time for this!
