Air bag light and Engine light comes on and off. Headlights, break lights, and blinkers keep going on and off while light switch is on. Rust on body due to clear coat peeling. Steering is sometimes hard to do even with full steering fluid. Shifts hard. Brake fluid has leaked. Coolant has leaked, along with heater core that dealership had me pay a lot of money for replacement in 2022. Vehicle hesitates to accelerate to higher speeds. Windshield wipers do not fully touch windshield towards top. Air compressor makes rattle on/off sounds.

Complaint #10734989 7-19-2015.no response from you. Calling and sending E mails since October 2013 not just your department! no one will help. You, Dodge or the person when I was sitting on the side of 71S. & promised someone would call me back - oh it was Friday afternoon and everyone was leaving work! no one will help me resolve this.do I and have to get killed before anyone will start to listen! purchased this vehicle in July 2010.when driving at a speed of 65, long distance the engine light comes on, slows me down to 45. The engine makes the loudest whinning (like something is stuck under the hood) like it wants to blow up!!!pull over - wait til the light goes off. Temperature gauges do not show overheating. I've started replacing parts.still light comes on and slows me down to 45 I actually am very upset about no one helping me. I was told to take to dealer when it does it..I did and they can't find anything wrong because light is now off to drive it there. They tell me to leave it and they will go thru it. "I don't have the money to have them do this" my life as well as my grandchildren, father, me and anyone that I have had in this car is at risk. Being on the side of the expressways or exit ramps waiting for this light to go off with semi's, cars, flying by. People are driving off roads with distracted driving hitting people parked on the side. I don't want to be a fatality! my grandchildren were in the back seat and I was parked along I96. My father (alz) was in the car while I was parked on US23. My husband and I...when do I get help. When someone is dead. Please please is it the cvt!!! I don't know anymore.... I was depending on you to help me or Dodge. I have to drive to nc and I am actually scared to drive the distance.

I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota sport. The color is solar yellow. In late April of this year, I noticed that my clear coat was starting to peel and it was turning white in other sections of my truck. I took it into a Dodge dealer which told me that the clear coat is too thin on all panels. He contacted Chrysler to let them know what was wrong, and they denied to fix it since it is out of warranty. So I wrote them a letter asking them to reconsider since it wasn't my fault that the clear coat was too thin on the whole vehicle. They have informed me that it is out of warranty.

I purchaced in March 2004 a used 2000 Dodge Dakota quad cab with 71,000 miles. With in the first month the right rear window regulator needed to be replaced. In July '04 the right front door regulator went out that needed to be replaced. In Sept '04 the left rear window went bad. In May 2005 the left front door regulator went out. I find it hard to believe there is no recall on any of these regulators. Even thou its a 2000 and in good shape. The dealer informs me no recalls. I have researched on line for any information to confirm this? no luck. I'm very frusterated as a Dodge owner. There has to be some information some where to support all these problems happing with in the first year.

I bought a 2000 Dodge Dakota extended cab sle model. It now has about 50,000 miles on it. The truck has been regularly washed and waxed but is not garaged. It is black with a gray lower body panel. Several large white discolorations have appeared on the roof of the truck. No amount of washing waxing or polishing compound has any effect on these white spots. They seem to be a defect in the clear coat. I have seen at least one other black Dakota of the same vintage with the same problem. These were first noticed several months ago.

Upper and lower ball joints have failed. 40,000 miles on vehicle. Ball joints should last much longer than this. Dealer wants $1,200 to change them. Truck has already had new front drive shaft, new sway bar bushings, new driver seat cushion, new fuel injectors, new electric motor in right rear window. What has happened to "Ram tough". may have to go back to "like a rock". old pickup 1979 Chevrolet never had ball joint problems, much less any thing else major. Thanks rick worsfold.

Initial problem (mileage 17,803)was that the truck did not want to start, and the check engine light was on. Truck finally started and was taken to the before mentioned dealer. They checked the codes: No crank reference signal at powertrain control module, replaced crank sensor and retested O.K. / (mileage 18,809) check engine light came on for two days, idle was erratic intermittently, light went out. Came back on one day later with same erratic idl, truck stalled once at idle but started right back up. Took it again to same dealer. They checked the codes, scanned the sensors and found an open circuit inside the power train control module. They ordered and replaced the module.(mileage 19,341) service engine light on again, erratic idle at times. Returned to same dealer who found bad ground connection in the transmission control module. Replaced the module and it retested O.K. (mileage approx 19, 370) while driving 40-45mph vehicle jerked strongly as if engine momentarily stalled and restarted, immediately after, the check engine light came on and the vehicle drove like it had a heavy load in the bed. Idle was erratic and would stall unless shifted into nutral and revved. This lasted for approx 5 miles. Upon starting up again the truck would run normally exept that the check engine light would still be on. Returned again to the same dealer: Thay found the battery to fail load test and replaced it. They also replaced the crank position sensor. It was test driven for 70 miles by the dealer with no recurrence. (mileage approx 19,430) same day after picking up the truck from the dealer and approx 15 miles and again driving 40-45 mph the truck jerked strongly and the check engine light came on. Same sluggish power and erratic idle as before. This has all transpired within a two month period, the dealer says they have been conferring with "detroit". I cannot find any reference on the internet as to a recall for this problem, or likewise any service bulletins. Thanks
