This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Dakota. While driving at various speeds, the air bag light illuminated. The dealer was unable to determine the cause of failure, however, they reset the controller. This did not correct the failure and it repeatedly continued to occur. The current mileage was 17,404 and failure mileage was 13,670. Updated 10/25/07
Airbag lights continue to come on intermittently. Previous truck was traded in as the dealer could not fix the issue. Now, the new truck is experiencing the same issue. I think this should be kept track of in case of a widespread issue concerning airbag warning lights in similar vehicles (2005 Dodge Dakota).
