Dakota ST 4.7L V8

Going down the highway, you hit an incline, and the damn thing wont accelerate anymore. The lights blink at you, no power, and you drop from 60 mph to 35.

Dakota SLT 4.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 136,000 miles

I was on my way home from being in the ER all night and the engine light flashed one time and the truck shut off on me, no signs or warning, doing 65 down the highway and she just dies on you, WTH.. I have an engine on order but now it is back=ordered, since there were eight sold within two days of mine being ordered. They told me the 3.7,4.7, and 5.7 engines are all having breakdown or replacement issues.

What the hell is going on DODGE, maybe they need to look into all of these..... Maybe there will be a recall on them in the near future????

Dakota SL 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 55,000 miles

Bought the truck used with 20k miles on it. Kept up regularly. One day the check engine light came on and the engine started rattling and then just completely cut out. This all happened within about 15 seconds. No overheating, no warning signs whatsoever. Dealerships say should have gotten extended warranty and no one seemed surprised or willing to even admit that a 3 yr old vehicle with only 55k miles SHOULDNT BE HAVING THESE TYPES OF MAJOR ENGINE PROBLEMS. I will NEVER buy another Dodge product as long as I shall live and will also discourge friends and family from purchasing this defective products.

Dakota SL V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 23,000 miles

I wrote to Chrysler, explaining my problem. Prior to my letter, I called their 800 service number. I was told that I should have purchased the extended warranty since the vehicle was bought used. No wonder they are in financial trouble. They can't guarantee their products past 3 years. I can understand if I had abused the vehicle, but the oil was changed every 3,000 miles after purchase at 16,000 miles. It is driven to and from work, as well as church. No abuse whatsoever. My ultimate wish is someone from Chrysler reads this and would like to deal with this complaint in a professional, reasonable manner.
