While driving with the cruise control on the car will jerk, the cruise control will turn off and the dash will light up saying electric brake service, I have a video of the panel if needed, also the car will not always start when the clutch is depressed, traction control also lights up for no reason, this has been ongoing since Oct, 3 2019

Drove to work fine. Got into Dart to leave, started car. After 2 seconds I feel the brake pedal push out hard against my feet with a hissing sound. The alarm "service electronic braking system" pops up. I'm thinking it's just extra pressure like older vehicles, so it's ok. But no, I pull out of the parking spot and realize I have to stomp the pedal with excessive force to get any stopping response. I had to drive it home very carefully, but the braking response when pressing the pedal is about 2 seconds of slowing then a hiss and you feel the brakes let go, so you either have to keep doing that or stomp with all of your might and pretty much lock up the brakes. I'm not the original owner, I got the car about 1.5 years ago at 48000mi, I'm now at 64239mi and very concerned about my safety. It's a 2015, and looking up recalls the 2013 and 2014 cars were recalled for this same issue, but for some reason my car (which is a 2.4L manual, almost identical if not the exact same car to previous years) was not. I don't have the funds to replace a braking system and really don't feel that I should have to because the car itself isn't old enough to constitute a brake system failure.

While driving the vehicle at normal speed through the city, I had to make a sudden stop to avoid an accident. I immediately heard an air release and the brake became very stiff and nearly impossible to stop the car. Now, I have to use brute foot force to stop the car. I was only a few blocks from an express oil change & tire engineer on 5700 sanderson rd nw, huntsville, al. My vehicle was diagnosed by a certified mechanic. It was brought to my attention that the brake booster needed to be replaced. The mechanic did not seem surprised by the finding. That alerted me that this is a systemic problem for the Dodge Dart. After reading other brake complaints on this website, I decided to file a complaint. The repair will cost me nearly $650 for a fairly new vehicle with low miles.

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Dart. While driving various speeds, the brake pedal was applied and the contact heard an abnormal air noise. The brake pedal was difficult to depress and the vehicle failed to stop. The vehicle was placed into neutral and 'electronic braking system' appeared on the instrument panel. There were no other warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to john jones Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat (1735 gardner ln nw, corydon, in 47112, (877) 473-5546), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The contact stated that the failure was similar to NHTSA campaign number: 15V180000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The failure mileage was 72,260.

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Dart. While driving at any speed, the brake pedal stiffened and failed to stop the vehicle on more than one occasion. The vehicle was taken to gossett motor cars (901-328-8174, located at 1870 covington pike, memphis, tn 38128) where it was determined that there was no recall and referred the contact to the manufacturer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Dart. While attempting to stop the vehicle, the brake pedal would not function properly. The brake pedal had to be depressed multiple times before the vehicle responded. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the brake booster, brake lines, and brake bump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer (Dodge in summerville, 195 naryneade dr, summerville, SC) and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 66,000.

While driving I tried to depress my brakes and they were extremely hard to depress. I almost slammed into the rear of another vehicle. I have a message on my dash to service electronic braking system. While doing some research I notice this is a ongoing problem with the Dodge Dart. I noticed recalls on previous year models but not on the 2015 model. Garage wants almost $1000 to repair. Hopefully this will get resolved with a recall soon before somebody dies.

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that the brakes failed. When the contact attempted to brake the vehicle rolled. While braking, the brake pads seized and would not move. In addition, the brake warning indicator illuminated. The contact called Dodge's customer service hot line and was informed that the VIN was not included in a brake recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 36,000.

I was leaving a very busy parking lot after shopping, I proceeded to the exit and went to stop at the four way. When I pushed on the brakes they where very hard and not stopping me, there was a air sound coming from them and the pedal started pushing back at me. I checked to see if there was fluid leaking or if my rims had brake fluid, of course there was nothing and the fluid container was almost full. I see there are plenty of others that have had the same experience this should be a recall this is a huge safety concern when you have your young child in the car and plenty of other families driving on the roads.

Over the past month, braking action is declining. They have become stiff and must be depressed quite hard to stop. The brake pads, upon inspection, are almost brand new and there is no grinding. Several mechanics have suggested the brake booster as a possible issue. Upon my own research, this appears to be a very common issue with this vehicle. Thousands of 2013-2014 Dodge Darts were recalled to replace the brake booster, although the 2015 has not. I'm very concerned that eventually, the brakes will worsen or fail as has happened with many others who own this same vehicle, as written on several internet forums.

When driving you hit a bump you hear a metal clanging noise coming from the tire. When you engage the breaks they go about halfway down before catching as if they have air in the lines and sometimes you hear a hiding noise. You can be sitting with the breaks engaged and they will go soft and the car will move until they cage on their own.

The emergency brake had to be engaged to stop the vehicle and the brake lights were illuminated. The "emergency braking system needs to be serviced" message was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to fuccillo Chrysler Jeep (4589 state highway 30, amsterdam, NY 12010, (518) 843-3333) where it was diagnosed that the brake booster and vacuum pump needed to be replaced. In addition, oil was leaking into the brake booster. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 57923582. No further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 53,000. The VIN was not available.

The parking brake keeps failing under normal circumstances. I had the vehicle inspected at around 32,000 miles for a sticking rear brake. It was determined that the right rear caliper was defective. After jumping through a few hoops, it was repaired. Now at 39,000 miles it's doing the same thing again, in addition the left rear caliper started sticking. On my 3 mile drive home from work right after the symptoms of extended parking brake handle travel for proper engagement started. I pull in my driveway and my rear rotors are glowing. There was no smel of hot brake components at all. It is imperative that the parking brake works on a standard transmission car, to prevent roll sways. Leaving it in gear is absolutely not enough.

Driving car normally. I parked in a parking lot and went into a store. When I came out to start the car it would not start. Charging indicator light and check engine light came on. Auto zone was in the plaza so I had the guy come out and do a diagnostic. Codes were P0123, P2122, P2127, P0222, U0401. When the guy went back into the store the car started. When I parked again 10 minutes later the check engine and charge light disappeared. Car ran fine for one day. About 33 hours after that incident I parked the car at a park for lunch from work. Took a walk and when I returned car never came on. Dash was flickering, all lights illuminated, mileage was flashing, gauges were flickering, car would not turn over. Acted as if battery was dead. Had to walk back to work and have car towed by aaa after work. Car has been sitting for 4 days and will not turn on. New messages came up: Check electric braking system, check air bags, service tire pressure system and check anti lock brakes system. The tire light is on me because a sensor in the passenger tire broke when I got a flat hitting a curb while parking. I replaced the tire but not the sensor. Also now the uconnect and radio not coming on and battery light comes on, and when I made attempt to start a message came up stating engine warming up"?" that was weird. This all happened all of a sudden within a two day span. Now I am stuck paying for a car I cant drive that is going crazy electronically.

The problem with the vehicle is that the clutch pedal goes straight to the floor and stays there, the only way to get it to the up position is to reach down or use your foot. The master cylinder of the brake system was below the minimum line. No brake warning light or any other warning/caution. The clutch went to the floor. The incident happened I was on a 7 lane city street during rush hour traffic I was driving and everything was normal. I was the first vehicle in line when I try to start going the clutch felt like it was slipping in first gear which is highly unusual for my vehicle because first gear has always been very touchy.. shift to second gear in the clutch once again was slipping and the engine reved the vehicle did not accelerate properly. I was able to get it to go and I made it to the next traffic light. I was the second car from the intersection. When the light turned green I released the clutch and the gear engaged imeadiatly with the gear in first, the vehicle lurched forward and kept doing that about three times until the vehicle stalled out. Pushing in the clutch pedal did nothing it's stay stuck to the floor. In the mirror I see that the vehicle behind me almost ran into me and almost caused a huge pile up behind me because of the hesitation of my vehicle I was not able to move the vehicle out of the lane without help from a fellow citizen that was dangerous in itself. Once I got the vehicle to a safe place pushing it I checked under the hood and I see that the brake fluid reservoir on the master cylinder was empty. I check the fluids in my vehicle at least twice a week. Where did all that fluid go? I have been without my vehicle for a week or two now due to trying to figure out what to do because the car has 40, 000 miles on it so its out of warranty.
