Recall campaign: The consumer received a recall notice regarding defective front suspension and made an appointment with the dealer. The day before the scheduled appointment the rep called stating that the parts were not available.
While driving 15 mph consumer heard a popping noise coming from underneath the vehicle. Consumer took vehicle to the dealer for analysis, and mechanic noticed that the bushings of lower control arm needed to be replaced.
2001 Durango required rt upper ball joint arm, rt lower ball joint assembly, let lower ball joint assembly, rt outer tie-rod end replacements and front end alignment. 45,322 miles considered premature defects.
I had to prematurely replace the right upper ball joint and control arm on my 2001 Dodge Durango. The vehicle only had 42,000 miles on it when they were replaced. Sounds like it was a good idea that I listened to the rattle and had it fixed before something tragic happened.
