Bought this from a dealer on 10/20/20. Didn't get it home and the check engine light came on. Dealer reports light was on when previous owner traded it in, but it had been "fixed". The van has now been "fixed" 4 times and is going back again on Tuesday for the same damn problem. The check engline light continues to come back on. So far, they have changed the top end twice.

This is getting out of hand. The van has been in the shop more than I have had it. I have put less than 200 miles on it so far. I know it is under warranty, but that is not the problem, the problem is I want it fixed. I am an older driver with grandchildren that I transport and I can't afford another vehicle after purchasing this one. As far as I am concerned, they should just replace the engine at this point. This time when it came back from the shop, the temp gauge moved up and thankfully my husband checked and it took almost a full gallon of antifreeze.

I am at a loss as what to do. I feel like I am at the dealers mercy and will have to keep taking it back to have it serviced. At what point do they call it a lemon and make it right?

Grand Caravan SE V6

  • Automatic transmission

Hum diagnostic from Verizon detected misfire in December, service would not schedule until check engine light came on. Light was so intermittent, could not get it in for several months. Then they referred to dealer in case it was covered by extended warranty. IT WAS NOT.

Was quoted $1150 for repair, when they took off the engine top, they discovered it was burned out, to the tune of $3700. Had no choice but to fix it, can't sell a car that won't pass smog.
