Journey

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

My vehicle began having issues shifting gears at 103,000 miles. The vehicle would jolt each time a shift occurred. It specifically had issues shifting out of reverse into drive. This occurred intermittently for a couple days. Then it began having issues shifting while accelerating. I mainly drive on the interstate to and from work, and the vehicle would not go over 45 miles per hour. We immediately parked the vehicle and noticed transmission fluid leaking underneath. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop who told us the transmission pump had gone out and we needed to rebuild or replace the transmission.

The vehicle was taken to rocky top Chrysler Jeep Dodge (3315 winfield dunn pkwy, kodak, tn 37764) however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 149,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Journey. The contact's wife was driving and the vehicle started to hesitate. There was a noise coming from under the hood. The vehicle drove as if it was stuck in the neutral while his the wife tried to accelerate. The vehicle was guided off the road and was towed to the contact's home. Abernethy Chrysler Jeep Dodge (1442 E main St, lincolnton, nc 28092, (704) 732-1890) stated that there were no open recalls on the vehicle and all past recalls had been repaired. Another unknown dealer said the same and advised the contact to file a complaint with NHTSA. The contact researched the issue as a defective transmission pump. The manufacturer had not been contacted. The failure mileage was 108,000.

My Journey only has 59000K miles and it started with a" knock" noise when I start about a month ago. Mechanic tells me the "lifters" are bad and they would need to open up the part of the engine where the lifters are located, I understand there are two different locations for the lifters, the front is pretty easy to change but the second location not so much. All will cost me about $1500 to repair. Is there a recall?

The gear box & differential went out when we were trying to park. Applied the gas pedal, felt like the vehicle wouldn't move, applied the gas more & heard a loud 'boom.' We're able to get the vehicle parked, then smoke started coming from the engine. Looked to find out there was gear oil leaking from the vehicle. Looked online @ Dodge Journeys & found out there have been a multitude of complaints about the same issue with other owners. Had to get the vehicle towed home due to being unable to drive it. This happened October 19th, 2019 & we've been unable to drive the vehicle since incident. Our Dodge Journey is a 2015 SXT all wheel drive with about 120,000 miles on it. There needs to be a manufacturer recall on these vehicles!! we've been told it's going to cost anywhere from $5,000 to upwards of $7,000 to get this issue fixed and we still have a vehicle loan of $11,000 we owe on it.

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Journey. After the contact owned the vehicle for a year, the transmission failed and the torque converter cracked. The vehicle was taken to sliman's sales & service (7498 leavitt rd, amherst, oh 44001, (440) 988-4484) where the transmission was replaced under warranty. The vehicle had several unknown recall repairs that had to be serviced after the transmission replacement was completed. The contact stated that the transmission indicator flashed on and off since the initial repair. Also, the alternator failed and the vehicle shut off in the middle of the street on September 23, 2019. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer for repairs, but the same indicator flashed again. The contact planned to take the vehicle back to the dealer, but they were unresponsive. The dealer offered to sell the contact a new vehicle and laughed at her concerns about the condition of her vehicle. The failure mileage was 15,000.

My 16-year-old son was driving our 2015 Dodge Journey to school. He began to hear a noise that sounded as if something was dragging underneath the vehicle. The driver behind him was flashing him to pull over, he began having issues controlling the vehicle fortunately he was able to pull over and as soon as he got to the stop sign the car completely died after making a loud noise and started smoking. My son jumped out of the vehicle and the driver behind him told him to get away from the vehicle as he felt it was about to catch fire by the smell. Once the tow truck driver got there and try to start the vehicle to put it in neutral the car again filled up with a burning smell. He jumped out and had to call dispatch for safety reasons of transporting the vehicle. Once my vehicle arrived at lonestar auto plex in cleburne Texas our service man dan was amazing. He kept us informed along the way asked questions and he was provided the service records. Come to find out the engine seized up. The engine, oil pump, starter, all had to be replaced. Chrysler requested the engine so their engineers could look at it. Although everything was covered under warranty, my concern is now that there are others out there driving in the same thing may happen to them if not worse.

The 2015 Dodge Journey R/T AWD. I purchased this SUV 2 years ago and now while the vehicle is in drive and in motion on streets and highways the second it touches 20 mph and up it is making this" revving noise" as if it is in another gear and it's only in drive! this SUV is not that old to have such issues happening now. Its not right when the consumer is spending their money for a SUV that is giving them issues so early into the purchase. Dodge needs to recall this vehicle!! and anyone even thinking of purchasing this SUV. Honestly don't... run out of any dealership selling this 2015 Dodge Journey R/T AWD SUV! the only Journey you will take will be back to the dealership with issues!

After driving in about 70 degree sunny day for about 45 min the traction control light and ABS light dinged on then after pressing the accelerator the vehicle chuffed and completely died in the middle of a busy interction. Turn the vehicle off for about 10 min and continued driving another 45 min without a problem. This has happened on several occasions at various speeds from a stop to about 70 mph.
