The car is a push button start after you push in the brake pedal, keyless. Drove to the store and came out minutes later. The brake was all the way down and could not go much more. I pushed the start button and it just stuttered like a starter problem. Battery was fine and everything else worked. Windows, lights dashboard, locks etc. So it was not a battery problem.
After sitting for a tow truck for four hours the battery died and would not hold a charge. A good Samaritan gave me a jump, didn't work. Had it towed to the dealer and they said they didn't know what happened first the battery or the tipm. The starting problem happened about two weeks before but it started after a few minutes.
The dealer tells me the tipm is shot and the battery is dead. Have to replace both for total of 912.78. How there isn't a fuse to keep the whole computer system from being fried I don't know. So I Googled the module and found this site and a long history of Dodge problems with the computer. 19,000 miles and 3 years and 6 months later. The warranty ran out 6 months ago. The new module is warrantied for one year or 12,000 miles. No more Dodges or Chryslers.
