The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Nitro. The contact stated that while refueling, fuel sprayed out of the filler neck onto the ground. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. Updated 3/14/13 the mechanic at the dealer informed the consumer it was the same problem Jeep had with the roll over valve in the gas tank being defective and it needed to be replaced.
The contact owns 2007 Dodge Nitro SXT. The contact observed fuel spraying out of the fuel tank whenever she was refueling the vehicle. An authorized dealer stated that the failure was contributed to the check valve in the fuel tank. The vehicle has not been repaired. The contact has concerns of the potential safety hazard. The failure mileage was 35,000 and the current mileage was 40,000. Updated 12/8/09 the consumer also stated the vehicle had a transmission leak. Updated 12/09/09.
The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Nitro. While adding fuel to the vehicle there was a clicking noise present. Whenever the fuel being added was near it's capacity it rapidly began leaking on the floor. The failure occurred approximately 7 to 8 times. The dealer has been notified. The fuel leak will be repaired per the warranty. The failure mileage was 39000 and the current mileage was 40000. Updated 11/06/09. The dealer replaced the entire gas tank. Updated 11/09/09
