The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Nitro. The contact stated that the power locks failed to activate with the key fob, causing the doors to have to be manually unlocked. In addition, the liftgate was manually opened and closed from inside the vehicle intermittently. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic who diagnosed that the tipm needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
