REALLY......REPLACE YOUR TRANNY AT 95,000 MILES. JUST ANOTHER ONE TO ADD TO THE LIST OF CRAPPY THINGS WITH THIS VEHICLE.

problem #1

Mar 052012

Nitro 3.8L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 49,710 miles

This vehicle looks nice, often gets mistaken for a jeep, but certainly not a commuter vehicle at all. It is horrible on Gas, absolutely brutal! I noticed the handling on dirt roads in 2 wheel drive is easy to slip or fishtail.

I had a funny winnowing noise out of the tranny for some time and the odd hard shift since I bought it at 40,000 KM I took it to the dealership 4 times (each time the noise was never duplicated even though in 70 km/hr I could do it every time). They apparently upgraded the firmware all times. It wasn't until the vehicle had to be pulled to the side of the road because it dropped into third and never shifted up again. This was on the freeway. Apparently it was a mess inside. The rebuilt the tranny and now I am out of warranty and notice that the transmission delays and shifts hard sometimes. I foresee a large bill.... The last dodge I buy since I have had another dodge which had issues too.

I don't recommend this vehicle.
