Nitro Shock 4.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 107,450 miles

This is the 2nd time this problem has happened. As I'm pulling out from work the horn starts blowing randomly so knowing from last time I pull over quick and just unplug the horns because I know nothing will fix it. I'm really pissed off at this point and want help. Why is it doing this it's not the battery. So is it the TIPM. Please help before I run it off a bridge.

Nitro Shock 4.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 104,500 miles

Two day after I bought my 2010 Dodge Nitro I was leaving work when the horn starts blowing randomly and it did that all the way home. I live about 30 miles from work. Took it by the shop and they said they couldn't find anything and that it didn't blow while they had it. Later that evening I get home inside eating supper and hear it out in the driveway blowing. Went out to see if I could fix it hen my neighbor came out and said it had blew all night the night before. This was really annoying and frustrating due to the fact it kept my neighbor up and other people on the road wondering what my problem was. So I unplugged the horn until I took it to a local Napa to get the blinkers fixed. They replaced a switch and said that fixed the horn too. That lasted about 2 months until today Dec. 21 2017. Came out from work again and it was blowing before I even got in. What the hell is going on I've read about the TIPM being faulty is there not a recall?

My wife was driving to work and as she was making a turn the car just died off. Luckily there was no traffic and she was able to pull to the side. The car steering was hard because the car died out. The brakes were not efficient either because the car died off. Fortunately, she got the car to the curb safely and out of harms way. She tried starting the car but it would just not turn over. It was like when the car is out of gas, the motors turning but won't turn. My wife knew it wasn't the gas because she recently purchased gas. Anyway, she got hold of road side assistance. Then she contacted me. I got to the car shortly after because the incident happened close to our house. It took over 2 hrs for a tow truck to arrive. I'm grateful it happened in the day time and in a safe area. I can't imagine if this happened late at night and in a hazardous or dangerous area. And my wife was all alone.

Towed it to Dodge dealership where we bought it from. Had to pay a diagnostic charge of over $100.00 but less than $175.00 (I don't have receipt handy). I was informed the power module distribution unit will need to be replaced.

Nitro Limited 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

For almost six yrs. we had no problems, now the car acts like its possessed; NO LIGHTS,NO LOCKS, BRAND NEW BATTERY sometimes shifter stays locked in park. Car is useless right now, just finished last payment, cannot use it, frozen in time. I contacted Autoland and they will not fix it even thou there was a recall. What a horrible dilemma, my voice to my four grown sons is to spread the word of how inconsiderate Autoland Dodge was.

Nitro Heat 3.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 75,240 miles

A real safety issue, here. The car is possessed and does whatever it wants to do. Horns blare, wipers turn on, no acceleration and engine dies. This same problem occurred in 2012, only 2 years after I bought the car. The dealer covered up the problem by selling me a battery.
