Cracks appeared on sidewalls of two of a four tire set ranging from 1 to 3 inches in length about 1 inch from rim. Tires were replaced using the prorated tire tread warranty. Defect manufactured into tire therefore manufacturer should be responsible for entire replacemnet cost.
While traveling approximately 62 mph in a 1995, Dodge, truck Ram, and pulling a 27' trailer and boat, right/front Firestone, steeltex R4S tire, size: P215/85R16, dot: Unknown experienced a blowout in sidewall. Blowout resulted in a crash which hospitalized consumers wife for 4 weeks, where back surgery was performed to repair spinal damage. No determination has been made as to the cause of blowout. Tire was available for inspection. There were approximately 20,000 miles on tire when this occurred, and the tire was not original equipment for vehicle.
