First gear went out. When the transmission was pulled apart the rear drum bushing was completely gone. The dealer may not have replaced this part. Mr Transmissions rebuilt it this time and I've returned it three times and they still can't get it to shift properly.

I will never buy an automatic transmission vehicle from the Chrysler Corp.

Ram 1500 LE 360 V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 131,570 miles

I had bought this truck for my son because I knew that it had just had a complete engine install so I never really drove it a lot. After he complained once about the transmission missing shifting going into second gear I test drove it. I notice that the Temp gauge was at 205 degrees and steady. The transmission began to shift in and out of overdrive and after trying to find the problem and only after two shops could not detect the reason behind the symptoms I found that the water being hot, and maybe other reasons, caused the transmission fluid to gum up and clog the cooler lines cutting off the fluid to the transmission and burning it up. The pump had been working but the shops did not check the return line for pressure, had they done that in the beginning my transmission could maybe been salvaged.
