I can only pray that it is only a bad sending transmitter. The mechanic thinks it might be the Cam Bearing which would entail either rebuilding or replacing the motor. I have just spent over $2000 to replace cracked heads and timing chain cover gasket.

So many people have had the same problem and the dodge dealer has not clue how to fix it right, just keep adding bandaids hoping we will get tired. I wish we could get something done this is about the 5th time and now the autoshop says the motor is gone. Still runs just engine light and again no oil pressure. Will never ever every buy a dodge. Truly a lemon from day 1

Ram 1500 SLT V8

i have just bought a ram 1500 after taking it on along scenic drive through the mountains i noticed the check gauges light would come on around turns and the oil press. was low. when i got to a town i checked the oil and it registered empty so i added three quarts and then it registered full, would have thought it would take 4-6 for that. the oil also smelled burnt on the dipstick. i have put about 1000 miles on the truck since purchasing and hope that i wasn't driving with low or no oil the whole time as i didnt check fluid levels before buying im probly a dummy for that. i hope i didn't make a mistake buying this truck after reading all these postings about sludge, which is something i guess i better get checked out. any body have any advise .......i have no warranty
