Ram 1500 SLT 5.9L

While driving my 2000 Dodge 1500 Ram it shuts off some times when I take my foot off the gas paddle for stop signs and red lights. To start it up again, I come to a complete stop, turn it off, and turn it back on. If the gas metter turns on, I can start the engine and be on my way again for a while for 1 minute to a few hours. I am taking it to a honest mechanic next week on 3-27-12 here in Valdosta, Ga

Ram 1500 Lariat 5.9L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 180,000 miles

When I am driving My truck will cut out at all sorts of speeds and some times when I corner , now the problem is that everything is power and when the engine is off there is no power and when it happens without warning it can cause a accident i know that I have had a few near misses. after I get the truck to the side of the road I noticed that the odometer was no longer reading numbers and all it was displaying was the term ( NO BUS) there are three plugs on the main computer located on the passenger side fire wall. The one furthest towards the driver side has to be hit or wiggled some times pushed or pulled and then the veichale will start again and the odometer will read normal, i am still looking for a fix but to replace the harness you have to buy the whole wiring harness for a 1500 clams, so I think that I will go to a wreking yard and get what I need and then splice the plug in I will try to update this when i get it fixed

Ram 1500 SLT 5.2L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 150,000 miles

Engine cuts out, dies without warning. all rpm's and speeds. L.E.D. readout on insrument panel says "NO BUS". I dont need my truck reminding me of the obvious- I know your not a f@#*ing BUS! It used to start right back up, now it takes 20 minutes.
