Linkage in steering column will remain in 2nd gear when I have put it in drive. It has been in mechanics twice. Twice into mechanics regarding antifreeze spilling inside the cab of truck. Repair was on water pump both times. Still having problems with both concerns. Resulting in health issues being at risk linkage while in motion on highway. Antifreeze spewing inside cab of truck on windshield, carpet and mats, also center of cab near 4 wheel gear shifter.occurs when stationary or when driving.

While driving 75 mph on the highway I took my foot off of the gas pedal, but the truck continued to speed up. I pumped the gas a couple of times but I failed to slow down. I applied the brakes, but each time I took my foot off of the brake I sped up again. I exited up an off ramp where I had to stand on the brake to keep form hitting the car infront of me at the light. I geared down(stick shift) but the engine continued to rev as if at 75 mph still. I turned off the key then restarted the truck only to have the engine continue to rev. I then had the truck towed to my mechanic who looked at it that night and the next morning but was unable to find out why it happened. This model does not have computer control of the throttle.I am grateful I was on a straight stretch of highway and not on a mountain road on the way home, and that I didn't hit anyone in the process of stopping...this is not the first Dodge to do this according to this web site. Perhaps there a so few complaints about this because other drivers have died as a result of a failure that seems to be undetectable after the fact. If I had hit the car infront of me, I would have had no proof that it was equipment failure and not operator error...if I had lived to tell the tale. I used to have complete faith in Dodge, but no more.

On 2/22/05 at 8:20 am I was dropping my grandson off at school. I had parked the vehicle to see rather or not he had gone into the school. When I returned to the truck I had started it up and put into reverse looked behind me and while backing up to notice that there was another car coming so I tried to stop backing when I had discovered that the truck would not stop because the gas pedal was stuck to the floor the engine was revving loudly and the truck was going backwards out of my control. At that point I had noticed that there were children and mothers all around in my path I had no choice but to turn the truck to hit another car to stop me. Before I decided to take such measures I had tried to break to stop the truck. The gas peddle was stuck I had even tried to pull the gas peddle up as well as my breaking to find it was doing me no good. After I had hit the other car I had forced the truck into park because the gas peddle had remained stuck. I then took the keys out of the truck and got out to see the damage to the other car. I am just glade that there was no one hurt in this situation it could have ended much worse there could have been people killed and I feel like there should be a investigation on this situation. The police were called and there were 5 different witnesses that seen the whole accident. After the vehicle is turned on engine surges, causing the forward movement of approximately 1 to 1 1/2 inches. Also, a "grinding noise" coming from the rear of vehicle during normal operation. Dealership recommended use of a special synthetic oil and performing a series of maneuvers in a parking lot to loosen the clutch. Please provide any additional information / documentation.

The van would jerk badly when put into drive and when sitting at a red light or stop sign it would begin to lurch forward requiring me to press hard on the brakes.after 8 days in the dealership and numerous calls from the service rep.saying that they keep finding more problems with the transmission.after I got it home I noticed that the invoice showed that one of the parts that had been replaced was the torque convertor and that it had been replaced with a remanufactured one.this van had only 3762 miles on it when the original transmission failed.how safe will it be for me to drive my small grandchildren around in a new vehicle with a rebuilt transmission when the original transmission failed with only 3700 miles on it.the customer service rep. Advised me that the she would contact the regional rep. To meet with me.it has been three days and no one has contacted me yet. No onerhrgrnufactured acedinbn.

Cruise control engages at any given time. Dealer noticed transmission sending unit cable got loose. Consumer states most common scenario is cruise control being set at speed, then being cancelled by consumer either by cancel button or by braking, cruise will then reengage at set speed.
