This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The contact owns a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph, an unusual noise emitted outside of the vehicle and then suddenly the vehicle swayed off the road. The contact inspected the vehicle and noticed the lug nuts detached from the front passenger's side wheel. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where currently ten lug nuts were being replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 85,000.
Both front tires are being damaged by rubbing against something in the wheel well. I took the vehicle back to the dealer where it was supposed to be repaired. The problem was not remedied, tire damage is still occurring high on the inner sidewall of both front tires. Tires are the same size that came on vehicle from factory 245 - 75/R16.
