Checked with Dodge in the past and it;s not covered since over 3 yrs old. Have used clear coat spray paint to help cover the ugly but still looks like crap up close.

Dodge needs to learn to paint their vehicles before they sell them. The paint on the roof and on the hood of my 2001 dodge ram is just about completely peeled off. I have not talked to Dodge about this, but several people have and they will not do anything to correct this problem.I guess it is not Dodges' problem now,its mine.I guess my next vehicle will be a 'ANYTHING BUT A DODGE"

I find it to be crazy that the finish on my truck has deteriorated so quickly. The truck has always been maintained properly, only to have the finish fail. This is a MANUFACTURED

PROBLEM WITH DODGE AND CHRYSLER PAINT FAILURES. And I feel that they are responsible for repair.

Dodge knew about the defect on it's top coat peeling off the hoods and the tops of the cab., but didn't want to anything about it. It's a shame, it's a great truck.

I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 truck, the paint is peeling off on the top of truck and on the hood, it looks like the paint is cracking on hood, I think as much as these trucks cost dodge should repaint the trucks. Every dodge I see lately has this problem. Dodge made enough money off the consumer they should fix the trucks.

The rest of the truck looks good but when you drive it the hood and the roof are all bubbled up and look like Crap. I have seen other trucks with the same problem this must be a defect with Dodge products

Clear coat is fading and separating from exterior paint in spots all over the vehicle. Most noticeably on the hood and roof. I have spots all over the truck and they are spreading. Asked the dealership about fixing it. You would not believe what they want to charge, its worth more than my truck is worth.

The paint on my roof is starting to fade really bad and on the hood. This looks awful. So I have to have the truck repainted to fix it. Too many problems with this Dodge!!

Noticed white speckling in 2005 when truck was four years old. First pic shown in 2006 and last pic is 08/2008. Dodge's customer service is absolutely horrible. File has been open for over a year. Took the truck in to a facility of Dodge's choosing and estimate is $3,800 and will take at least two weeks. Dodge area rep offered 20% and competition within 30 days. Replied that both amount and completion time were unacceptable. Bodyshop owner stated that paint was defective before even being applied to the truck and this problem was going to happen to anyone who happened to purchase the vehicle. Looking for others that may have had a similar problem and hopefully a recall if numbers are large enough.

I noticed alot of Rams doing this. Remember when Ford had to repaint a bunch of vehicles because the paint sucked.I think Dodge needs to repaint our trucks

The clear coat (?) is peeling off the hood and top of my 2001 Dodge truck. I say clear coat because it appears the black color is still present. I have since noticed several other Dodge trucks with this same problem.
