While vehicle is moving there is a whining noise from the rear of vehicle. I've had several mechanics audibly check for noise. They all said the same thing, "it's your rear differential". I've searched for recalls and have found non. I've found close to 100 complaints about this issue. I have gone on several Dodge forums and have found quite a number of same problem. Some respondents have said their "VIN" produced a recall on this issue. I too would like the same consideration. This is for a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 slt quad cab 4X4 5.7L 6ft bed now with 160,000 miles. All maintenance done at said factory intervals.
Dashboard cracking in 2011 my trucks dash began to crack and I took it in to the dealership in everett, Washington for repair/replacement. I was told that despite the fact that Dodge knew this was a manufacturer's defect they would not cover the cost of the repair. It has since continued to crack but not to the point where it has fallen apart however due to the recent passenger airbag recall my dash will be destroyed in the repair process I will be required to purchase a new dash out of pocket which is bull as Dodge knows they have a safety issue on their hands.
Unforced cracking and disintegration of plastic dash resulted in small plastic parts projecting from defroster vents presenting a hazard to driving visibility
Ignition issue** I was driving home from work going about 35mph and hit a small bump in the road and then I felt somthing hit my leg, I pulled over to find out the key had fallen out of the ingition and onto the floor ". this is a big problem as their is no way to turn of the truck once the key falls out. This needs to be recalled and new improved ingnition switch so the key cant be removed when truck is running!!
The dashboard on this vehicle cracked after about 7 years. A month ago, as my son was driving, a large section of the dashboard popped out and flew off the dashboard onto the floor. There have been multiple complaints about this the dashboard material on this vehicle and when pieces start flying off while driving, I can't imagine how this is not a safety issue. I realize all older vehicles can have cracked dashboards, but when cracks lead to parts popping off, safety is an issue.
The dash cover has cracked in half on passenger side, down the middle. It was not broken the previous day. I discovered it while cleaning the dash, it cut my hand on the sharp edges. The crack is in a very bad place, it is right in front of the passenger and has exposed sharp edges where a person can easily cut their hands.
Defective dash which cracked after 24000 miles this car was covered all the time and yet the dash cracked in several places. Dodge knew this and did nothing about it. But they were quick to take our money for a defective vehicle. Wow!

The truck was parked when the first crack occurred. Left side of glove box on top. New crack appeared yesterday. Based on the amount of failures people have experienced researching the internet, this must be a manufacturer defect. They only want $3000 dollars to fix with no monetary assistance.
I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 with multiple cracks in the dash. The dash started cracking a little over a year after I bought the truck new. I contacted the dealer ship, big O Dodge and my warranty provider and both state it is cosmetic and not covered under the warranty. The cracks have continued to get larger. I have holes where the vents are suppose to be on top F the dash. I also have parts of the plastic down in the vents where they have fallen. These small parts tend to fly around when you turn on the defrost or hit a bump. I have tried to take care of the dash by using multiple popular products but nothing seems to keep it from cracking. This is dangerous and I am afraid if I get in a wreck my dash could break apart and hurt or kill me or someone in my truck.
Yes I own a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 and about 2 years ago I started noticing that there were small cracks forming in my dash board and wasn't sure why. Done some calling around and research and found out that there was nothing that could be done about it short of dropping 500 dollars on a new dash board. Now two years later my dash looks like a jig-saw puzzle. I am worried about my dash falling apart one day going down the road. I work in the emergency field and it scares me for me and my family to ride down the road in my truck for fear of pieces of plastic falling off the dash. Please help me......
I'm a Dodge Ram owner and I'm concerned about my cracking dashboards I have a 2003 Dodge Ram truck the dash cracked when it was 4 years old and the dash is getting more cracks in it I'm afraid the air bags will come out when we are driving I called big old Dodge where we got it new in 2003 and they said they could not do anything about

Own a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500. Noticed a small crack in the dash on the passenger side of the vehicle by the airbag. Crack has grown from a 1/2 inch to 6 inches and is very noticeable. I heard this is an ongoing problem and talked with other Dodge owners that have the same problem.
